    Default Building Other Factions' Shrines

Is there a way to build other factions' shrines in my settlements?

You see I'm currently playing the Julii and have captured several Greek cities and would like to retain Greek culture. After all we worship the same gods only with different names. For example I captured Athens without any shrines built in it and find it unseemly to build one for Jupiter when it's supposed to have one for Athena. I'd also like to build one for Neptune in one of my towns not so much to give me naval advantage but in gratitude for my recent naval victories that allowed me to control the Mediterranean.

Well if it can be done it is cheating. But not something that will give me an advantage since I'm willing to live with the culture penalties...

Also is there a way to edit my finances? So that if I can build shrines other than my own I'd like to deduct a certain amount of denarii as penalty say 1.5 - 2 times the normal value of a shrine. Sort of a house rule for me...

Thanks in advance for any advice!

well, they are not completely the same...

Also this should be in Rome Workshop
Rome: Total War 2 Then make nr. 3 And continue until it's perfect Rome: Total War 1000

go to the export_descr_buildings file and try to figure it out. it takes a while tho.

tbh i would not bother with this. temples arent a big part of the game....well they are but the names dont really matter that much

You can build a temple of Neptune as the scipii. I took Syracuse and could build it right off the bat, along with every other port city.

You do realise though, that even if the gods are the same just with the name change, they are still considered different cultures in RTW. Therefore, if you are going to build Greek temples in Roman cities, cultural penalty will decrease public order. I guess what you could do is to change the name of the Roman shrines to Greek names, but that also means all your temples everywhere turn to Greek.

You can't, without modding. But since you've already gone to the Workshop, you probably figured that out.

the only time u can build up a temple of a different culture is if u r the julii and capture a gallic city with a temple to horse. u can upgrade that but for everything else u would have to mod

I actually modded the game so that I could build a Roman Minerva temple in Athens. Also set things up so that factions can get traits from temples of the same culture, e.g. Macedon, Greek and Seleucid generals have a chance to get traits from the presence of a Temple of Zeus in a settlement.
