    Default Mundus Magnus

Okay, first let me say that I have googled my off trying to find information and even a reputable download site for this mod (Mundus Magnus). I've searched this forum and the Hosted Modifications forum, and can't find much info either. So, I direct my inquiry into a new topic.

I just want information on this mod. A review, if you're willing to make one or have one and can copy and paste it (or link it). I'm interested in this mod simply because I like vanilla and do not want any mod that changes the game much at all like RS, EB, SPQR, RTR, etc. One thing I'd really like is a larger game map, and a mod called "Big World" or something to that effect probably is what I'm looking for (from the scraps of information I've collected, it seems to not change much from vanilla - just add settlements and expand the campaign map).

Also, a link to a download site would be nice, as well as the version you recommend (if it's not too much to ask). I did find one site, but all the comments said stuff similar to "Messed up all my game files and doesn't work!"

And I know there is a thread for this, but if you feel another mod would suit my wants, feel free to suggest it (so far I've only considered MM and possibly XGM as that supposedly retains the vanilla feel and adds campaign map, but I'm looking for as close to vanilla as possible).

    Thanks!

You have to try a mod that drastically changes it before you decide you want a vanilla type mod. I thought I would want that, but then I tried EB....it was amazing. Make sure you try it, or one of the other big mods, before you decide.

It seems to just add more to the campaign map(as in larger map), different names, different starting positions, new units, building corrections( alot), unit moving speeds.

the download site is...well, go the link i gave, click the link at the bottom. click search on the new page, search for Mundus Magnus. There are a bunch, not sure which you want.
    Men plan.

XGM, MM, or Darthmod sounds like something you'd like. Of those, I feel XGM is the best, but is also the farthest from vanilla (which, in my opinion, is a good thing). All have either MM's map, or at least a bigger map (not completely sure of the map DM uses).

I am the same. I use Mundus Magnus with vanilla. I had one of the first XGM releases several years ago but since then my computer has busted itself and now I play on a laptop. Still got my vanilla campaigns as julii and greek cities, both of which I have won long campaign and still conquering the world .

Currently doing a vanilla thrace campaign on mundus magnus. MM makes the campaign a lot easier for thrace in my opinion, but in some ways it is harder. But it's been really fun so far. One of the best bits is watching the unimaginably massive seleucid empire slowly crumbing

    Thanks, everyone, for your help!

Thanks to your insight, I now realize that yes, I probably should try out the more advanced mods before I say I don't like them - now that I think abuot it, that's kind of a nieve assumption on my part. But I still downloaded MM, and I must say, I am awestruck. I cannot wait to start a campaign! (Though first I have to pick a faction, lol)
