Missing faction symbols fixed for Vista users!

I installed the Grand Campaign Mod 3.0 and then the patch 3.7 and then the "Kingdoms Fix" into the grand campaign directory, but all of the new factions' symbol display as the symbol of a castle icon and not their own symbol. Their symbols display correctly at the campaign start screen, but don't when they're taking turns or in the diplomacy menu.

Did you have this problem in 3.0? or only since installing patch 3.7? I really need to know whether you tried unpacking the Kingdoms Teutonic Campaign as well yet.

I never tried this mod except for 3.7.

No, I did not unpack any Kingdoms campaigns. I will try it though and see.

Before you attempt to do any unpacking, please uninstall the mod and reinstall 3.0 on its own. Tell me if you still see the same problem.

You have not installed the display fix properly. There is an automatic display fix download somewhere I'll post it in a second.

EDIT: Ok, I can't find it, maybe I was wrong. You need to install the display fix to SEGA/Medieveal II Total War/data/ui

A common mistake is to put it in the ui folder of KGCM, not the main Medieval 2 ui folder. This should solve your problems.

I actually had it put into both the root folder and the mod's folder after I had the first problem. So this just puts me back to post #1 again

Try it in just the root folder. Make sure it goes in the ui folder, not just data. If this still happens let me know. I'm not sure what can be causing this.

I have the same problem (no faction symbol, replaced by the castle respectively a "1" beeing displayed where the faction symbol should be).

Didnt bother me too much, as the game runs extremely stable and there´s no other issues I came across with this mod.

I run version 3.7 aswell and istalled the display fix properly.

But did you have this bug in 3.0? thats what I really needed to know.

Can all those people that experience this bug post your full system specs here along with what version of the game you own. Boxed or Digital Download? Hopefully I can find some clue as to what might be the cause. Because this mod is working perfectly for the vast majority of users. Something is not right here.

The factions that don't display properly are... Ireland, Antioch, Jerusalem, Teutonic Order and Lithuania. Curiously Wales' shows just fine.

It doesn't have the problem in 3.0.

That tells me this problem may be related to the install program I used for patch 3.7. Maybe patch 3.7 does not install properly on Vista™ Ultimate Edition. Otherwise download patch 3.7 again with virus protection software turned off! Maybe your download had become corrupted.

That tells me this problem may be related to the install program I used for patch 3.7. Maybe patch 3.7 does not install properly on Vista™ Ultimate Edition. Otherwise download patch 3.7 again with virus protection software turned off! Maybe your download had become corrupted.

I do not use any virus protection applications. The images are still there, in their folders as they should be.
