    Default Moors, Egypt or Turks

Considering doing a Muslim faction campaign but i'm not sure what to pick. Naffatuns are a big + so i'm not too sure on the Moors though their camel units are pretty cool. I don't want to wipe Spain and Portugal out right away so I'd probably just hold them off and go as far east until I hit egypt. Maybe rebuilt the caliphate :p

Egypt has naffs which is great but i'm not sure how good they would be in the late game. Plus i'm not sure which way to advance. Maybe i'd just knock the moors out and pick up where they left off in Iberia. Up to the north with the Turks, not sure I want to advance that way either until the Mongols and Timurids clean up a bit. I think of I pick Egypt I might as well just play the kingdom's expansion with them since I don't see Egypt sailing to europe and invading them. I like making my own history but keeping it plausible.

Then the Turks which seem to have a super crappy early period game. It would be pretty cool to do the siege of Vienna and the Battle of Mohacs type thing. But for the most part it would still be stuff around Anatolia which I generally do with the Byz. And I might as well wait for the Tzardom mod to come out which will focus on the whole Balkan situation.

A forth option which is completely different would be Russia and just drop the whole muslim campaign all together, but I might as well do the Teutonic expansion since vanilla Russian campaign seems sort of boring.
    "Mors Certa, Hora Incerta."

"We are a brave people of a warrior race, descendants of the illustrious Romans, who made the world tremor. And in this way we will make it known to the whole world that we are true Romans and their descendants, and our name will never die and we will make proud the memories of our parents." ~ Despot Voda 1561

"The emperor Trajan, after conquering this country, divided it among his soldiers and made it into a Roman colony, so that these Romanians are descendants, as it is said, of these ancient colonists, and they preserve the name of the Romans." ~ 1532, Francesco della Valle Secretary of Aloisio Gritti, a natural son to Doge

The bigger question is on the campaign battles and not really the units.

Egypt tends to get the brunt of Catholic Crusades (Cairo, Antioch, and Jerusalem).

The Turks are really squeezed with the aggressive expansion of the Byzantines and Mongols/Timurids (as well as the Egyptians).

The Moors have a quiet corner and can take the campaign to others at their convenience.

The Turks have access to Janissaries, reason enough to play them. I prefere their army roster, personally. They also have a better strategic position, and have more lands available to them to conquer, including Constantinople, the big prize

Besides, you could be "the Turks" - they're definately the coolest Muslims of all.

But Egypt has Arabs! They are cooler looking then jan. and plus....whoever said fighting crusaders was a bad thing!? I think its fun! Just keep an army stationed at Gaza and you're all good.... and send that army to "hone" their skills with rebels and lye in wait of an approaching enemy....

Definately not Moors, too tedious to have to walk around in big areas with only one settlement in it. Egypt is fun, as you get to fend off Crusades. Turks are probably the best choice, as they have the best blitz potential.

Go for the Fatrimids, best unit roster, best architecture, and lots of enemies.

Turks are not historically correct, they play as Seljuks yet they have Jannisaries!!??.. Doesn't make sense at all.

Moors, well they are good too, probably their campaign would be too quiet for your taste.

    So, the answer is Fatimids.

    1. I have a guide for both
    2. They are fun and Turks dont get a lot of Crusades
    3. Turks have way to little money for all the enemies, even if you beat Byzantines you got hungary poland Venice Egypt Mongols timurids.

    @Alla

uhhhh -- the Turks and the Byzantines do certainly have to deal with "traffic" involving the Crusades.

I have seen several cursading armies just go sacking after the objective is achieved. There is no guarantee of good behavior. Fortunately, the Crusading armies are not all that though. It is still annoying and certainly should be of concern.

Well, I'd choose the Turks. Egypt always gets the crusade on them every now and then throughout the game. I don't like the moors, I think their location is dull, squeezed into a corner with large walks between regions. The turks though, have a nice nice with access to both the black sea and the ocean, and you can expand in any direction. Conquering the black sea would be fun I guess, aswell as defeating the byzantines and expand into central europe.

There's also the Khwarezm if you're playing SS 6.1. I think they're the remainders of the persian empire or something like that, guess it would be fun to reclaim their past belongings.

I'm gonna do a Turk campaign myself now.

your going to get alot of of either christian or horde problems, so pick whichever your preference is. Moors is easiest and egypt(christians)/Turks (mongols/timurid/orthodox) are the hardest. Play stainless steal (love) or crescent moon (havnt played) mod for better muslim factions/accuracy.

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.

I enjoy the moors the jinnates are a very good early unit and they have a corner position to campign from which is always a benefit.

In my historical Turk campaign, I took all but the whole of the Byzantine Empire, and finally took Constantinople and renamed it Istanbul. I lead a few Milans near the siege so they could join in lol. It was pretty funny

Turks for one reason and one reason only: Monster Bombards

all of your sieges will be 10000000000000000x easier when you have a cannon(or 2-3) that can take down a wall in 2 shot
    I admire your luck, Mr...?
