    Default General's Bodyguard

    How does the game determine what sort of bodyguard accompanies a new general? For example, if I have two units which have the general_unit trait, one mounted and one dismounted, how would the game determine which unit a family member would get once he comes of age?

    I have the same problem,please said me how know which unit for each general,in Pro Deo et Rege I want make Kwarzimian Mercenary Cavalry like Bodyguard Unit.I have added the mention "general unit" in the export_unit.I m tired of vanilla units....

    The game will pick the first unit in the EDU (i.e., top to bottom) that has the general_bodyguard attribute.

    EDIT - that's the first unit belonging to that faction

    Try it with removing "mercenary_unit". I have never encountered any problems with making units the general unit, but I have never tried with a merc unit. Those follow special rules when it comes to assign skins.

    BTW, this looks like a very weak unit to entrust your family members to?

    It works Konny,but the new family members(not recruited generals)by adoption or blood have the vanilla guard,how change that?

    As redxavier said, they get the first bodyguard in EDU valid for their faction. So you need to move the new bodyguard above the old in this file.

    No, it certainly isn't. Each EDU is the same, only the names and values of the units are different.
