    Default Starting error after editing

Hey guys. I tried to include the Seleucid Silver Shield Legionaire into the recruitment for Carthage. However, after editing descr_export_units, descr_export_buildings, and descr_model_battle, my game stops working after I reach the red Activision screen. please tell me whats wrong???

    What does -show_err say?

it does not show any pop up or window with any script. when I double click the play button, it pops up to the Activision red screen, with all the copyright info, stays there for a few seconds, and goes back to the desktop as if nothing happened. its really frustrating. whats strange is that I can play BI, but not the regular Rome vanilla.

Other than editing Silver Shield recruitment, did you add or change anything in EDB? I know from frequent experience that some issues in EDB can cause an errorless CTD at the splash screen (red Activision screen.)

whats EDB? sorry for being such a noob... is it export_descr_buildings? yeah. I edited it so that I would be able to train the units from the right building... hope that info helps.

Yes, EDB is export_descr_buildings, and as long as you didn't change anything other than the recruitment of the silver shields, we can rule that out as the source of your problem.

I changed it so that the unit was able to be used by carthage. so I wrote carthage next the seleucids in EDB. I think that might be my problem.

Depends how you wrote it, but if you did that incorrectly then -show_err should give you a message, your previous response to my question is somewhat ambiguous so what is the target line of the shortcut you are using?

Actually, can you post here the edited part of your EDB?

no, sorry. i just uninstalled rome and reinstalled it. fresh. I just wanted to know what might be the source of the error because I may start working on a new mod, and I don't want to run into any problems.

It's probably a typo (ie, you forgot the space or the coma after adding carthage to the available factions list) or something along those lines. Try again, and be very careful with those minor things, EDB can be very sensitive to them.
