So yeah, is Russia actually still Communist? Can it be compared to China?

Fail. All I can say. The answer is obvious....
Almost not at all? Only a few companies like gazprom are owned by the state, and thats more because they dont want foreigners exploiting their oil .

Then how come people are still calling Russia Communist and stuff?

Russia isn`T communist anymore.
And arguabley neither is China.
Because words like communist, Zionist and Fascist have a "evil" spin to them rather then actually reffering to a persons political opinion like they should be.Then how come people are still calling Russia Communist and stuff

Russia has, if anything, been more capitalist than the "West" for a while now... in the sense of unfettered, anything-goes Hobbesian Jungle, which should really just remind everybody why sensible states reined theirs in way back and as a result didn't suffer from wholesale popular uprisings but rather a greatly improved standard of living.
Anyway, it's been getting worrisomely autocratic under Putin but that's hardly very related.
Take a walk in any major city and see the wealth disparity for yourself. Rich businessmen (whose wealth is more than likely illgotten) have superflash cars, apartments etc, while regular people work for them and live as best they could. Looks pretty capitalist to me.
The snarky might add that it sounds pretty Third World, and that things weren't actually that different back during Soviet days... the guys in black cars with tinted windows just were Party bigshots etc. rather than filthy rich nouveau riche or gangsters (and the line between those is wont to be a little on the blurry side there AFAIK...).
It is extremely different..
Or doctors. Or jurists. Or engineers. Or administrators.the guys in black cars with tinted windows just were Party bigshots etc.
What point are you trying to make? That those who worked hard succeeded? Or that those who worked hard shouldn't be allowed to live well?
If anything, Soviet middle class was very large.
Do you actually have any kind of idea what you are talking about? Or do you find posting worthless BS like this fun?
Soviet Union did liberate Eastern Europe from the Nazis.
USSR failed because the entire capitalist world wanted it to die.

Middle class in Russia is growing. Although capitalism still shows its negative influence.
Most would counter that Soviet Communism still shows its negative influence too. And some historians postulate that so does the belated abolition of serfdom way back, as that appears to have screwed up a fair few other states too.
Middle class has very little to do with how capitalist or communist a country is.
Yeah China isn't communist. It's a closet capitalist.![]()
