I think this work is testament to the skill, effort and dedication these guys have put into this mod. The work is simply beautiful and certainly puts CA in its place. If they had any sense they'd employ you guys lol. It verges on scandalous that CA, with monetary backing and teams who were building this game 9-5 every day for god knows how long couldnt match the beauty and historical accuracy of what the RS team (who do this as a labour of love on top of RL issues and their own jobs..) has laid before us.

Credit where its due guys - top notch stuff. If only CA could make faces like that!

I was interested to hear from Tone that the Carthaginians had Hellenistic-inspired arms and armour. I thought they would have carried on Phoenician traditions which would have been more Eastern, and perhaps even incorporated african elements? I imagine its accurate, its just not what i expected lol

Take a look at Osprey's "Armies of the Carthaginian Wars" or any of the other mods here that would claim to be historical and you'll see pretty much the same. Yes there were African elements and loads of mercenaries, but much of the Carthaginian military was somewhat "hellenised" in armour and so on - linothoraces, some Hellenic style helmets (pseudocorinthian helmets on Carthaginian coins) and probably Thracian too.

Umm so yeah...Please excuse me as i wipe up the drool off my poor keyboard.. Poor thing was under my chin when i opened this thread. ZOMG those are very beautifully rendered skins. soo pretty.. but i had one question i was hoping i could get an answer to.

I noticed that the shields of Carthage and Makedon depict a symbol that has many commonalities with one another, why is that. though its all so droolingly (made up right on the spot that word was.. fits perfectly too) beautiful i almost didnt notice. thanks for all your hard work guys

The attention to detail is beyond belief. Completely gobsmacked and blown away. The Seleucid General clearly has the most detail on his armour. Thank you for that because the the armour they wore was the most expensive in the world - and it shows.

Some cool feedback though....i never knew that droopy eye syndrome was such a widespread disease back then...

why does the Pergamon general have the Macedon symbol on his shield?

and I love the Carthaginian general, looks like he's about to flip the helmet down before he charges into battle.
