I dont use the desktop shortcut, but am in need of the show err.
How do i make it work w/o the shortcut?

I dont enjoy the clutter on my desktop, is all. I only have the recycle bin and my computer icons there.

When I attempted to reinstall RTW, the game said that there was a problem transferring data (or something along those lines) and it quit attempting to reinstall.
I assume this is very bad...

Corrupted install isn't that bad. Put the disk in, see if it wants to you install. If it has no install button, do a full manual uninstall, the instruction can be found to do this, here. If it does say install, it may be fine. Install it, if you want to be cautious, uninstall and reinstall again, you can choose to use the manual uninstall here if you do decide to be cautious. Otherwise just play away...
