    Default Ceasar Wars (kingdoms mod)

    Hi,

    I'm proundly announcing my new project for mtw2, this mod will be about the rising of julius ceasar and his succesor ceasar augustus.

    The mod lenght starts in 58 BC and ends in 27 AD, covering the gallic wars, roman civil war and the fall of the republic with augustus becoming emperor.

    The faction list isn't yet decided, but this mod will include at least 3 factions (julius ceasar,senate and perhaps pompey !? ) and who knows mark anthony as emergent when augustus rises to power...

    also the barbarians (helvetii,aedui,arveni, suebi, dacians, british celts !?), with a special feature of unite the tribes and make unified nation to fight the romans (using kingdoms feature).

    map will cover west and and little of central europe aswell balkans, so this will be a provincial campaign.

    For now its just a wip open for suggestions, and new ideas for the development of this mod.

    Also i must say thanks for the contribution of Ferres and Godzilla for the use of their roman units

    No please. No more roman mods! Just finish one FGS! there are around 10 roman based mods and there is not even 1 in beta.
    Why don't you unite a mod? Lets say the Gathering Storm.

    Revan,though none of thsoe mods are in beta stage, wouldnt you rather have a small mini mod, from a reliable modder which will be released

    both mods are great but on different eras and time lengths than the one on this mod. also merging isn't a option since:

    - we cover different time-frame
    - this is a provincial campaign mod

    also this mods require alot of work, wich take months or years. make allmost everything new. thats why theres no betas yet.

    this actually seem to be quite a novel idea.
    limited to a small geographical area, with a short time span and focus on a few historical events, not spanning the whole friggin world and every aspect of human history imaginable. less is more, as they say.
    i do agree somewhat with revan shan, though. there are way many roman mod ideas and few seem to have any forward momentum.
    perhaps not being overly ambitious is the key to success...

    I think its a good idea, and only one roman mod have gotten to own forum stage if Im correct. Why not this one too?

    well map its more small than the original vanilla maps, but this isn't just about romans vs celts, its also about romans vs celts , romans vs romans, romans vs another barbarians (all in small time-frame).

    I too like the small scale idea; maybe after the first release you could expand to include a few more areas like Ptolemaic Egypt, Dacia and Parthia? By this time, these were about the only remaining sizeable states around the Roman Empire, so wouldn't take a huge amount of effort to add in.

    are you planing to use a new map or just cut out a piece of vanilla map?
    how many turns a year are you going for, 2, 4, 12?

    Really good idea, I would help you with codding and scripting, but I am already doing two mods, but if you want a bit of help I'm here for that.

    may i suggest something, instead make 2 factions Romans of Ceaser and Pmpey those two just require different skinning work, you can focus on enhancing campaign civil war style

    this is wip map (can be changed, or replaced...):




    so we dont cover such factions since they're not important for the events we want to cover as provincial campaign. also map also includes greece, since we've battles there during the civil war, ceasar vs pompey, augustus vs ....... and so on.

    12 turns since we cover little more than half century

    Hmm map really seems too big for m,e, this is now a total conversion

    I love the idea, although I think the map could have been a little smaller in the north and in the east, but it looks good!

    When is the faction list done? Is Carthage going to be in?

    Anyway, this looks like a nice sequel to Peninseula Italica.
