Plz help me Plz with the RTR installation

Hey members and admins

I need some help with my Rome total realism installation. I brought a Rome:Total War gold edition which contain Rome:Total War+Babarian Invasion and it is already version 1.5 when I installed it. Then someday I came across this Rome:total realism thingie. So I looked at how to download it and install it. So I just did what it says

The Preferred RTW-BI Method for installing RTR Platinum v1.9:

1. Install Rome Total War.
2. Install Barbarian Invasion expansion.
3. Install the BI v1.6 Patch.
4. Download and install the RTR Platinum Full Install.
5. [Optional] Download and install the Optional Add-ons for RTRPE v1.9.

I got both RTW and BI when I installed it therefore when I looked at other installation I assumed its this one. So literally I skipped the first 2 step. Then I got the 1.6 patch off internet but it doesn't let me install since it says not competiable for gold edition. So I then download the RTR Platinum Full Install and installed it.

Blah Blah Blah then everything is done and 3 new icons appeared on my desktop and they are Multi-player Battle Reset, RTR Platinum BI, RTR Platinum and then I cliked on the RTR Platanium one and then it say Window is searching for the file Rome Total War.exe and I just clicked explorer on the bottom and clicked on my original Rome Total War Icon. Then everything is fine until I got into the game. Everything is still the same and nothing changed. Therefore I think I just basically installed it wrong.

So can anybody just help me how to fix this problem plz guys I am counting on you. Plz just give me a list of instruction like above becuase I am quite not a game patch user so literllay I am noob at these kind of patch installing. THank-you guys!!!

The previous guy evidently installed the mod in a wrong folder. His Rome Total War being the gold edition probably installs in a The Creative Assembly folder, while the RTRPE installer by default installs in an Activision folder which was used by previous versions of the game. So he would have needed to point the installer to where he had the game installed. Otherwise, the desktop shortcut he used to start the game logically, can`t find the game`s executable. And after using the search to find it, the regular, unmodified game will be launched, obviously, because by installing the mod(RTRPE) in the wrong folder the mod had not overwritten the original files as it was intended to. The solution is to locate the folder where you have installed the mod and copy it over the game folder.

Also, RTW gold normally comes with RTW v1.5 and BI v1.6 so there`s no need to install any patch for them. To find out what version your game is, start it and go to the Options menu. In the upper right corner it should say ver1.5 for RTW and ver1.6 for BI. The versions required to play RTRPE. If you want to play RTRPE with the exe of RTW start it using the RTR Platinum shortcut. To play it with the BI exe start the game using the RTR Platinum BI shortcut. The difference is supposedly better AI for the battles and on the campaign map using BI. And I think you`ll get a couple other features with BI like swimming for some units.
