    Default Thought on 4tpy

I'm playing historically as the romans right now and I'm in 250BC and by now germany has expanded into most of everything north of the alps, egypt has all of egypt, mesopotamia and half fo anatolia, macedon has expanded into what was before pontus and galatia and would've had most of the world if i don't force diplomacy the macs to give me illyria and peloponesse which i then return to greece and illyrians.

I was wondering if having the vanilla 2tpy make the game more reasonable. it would make certain deadlines more difficult (kicking pyrrhus out by 270) but other than that it seems it would slow things down relatively.

The Germans winning battles... thats not very realistic lol. Erm anyway 4TPY will only slow things down. By 250BC they will still have taken everything over... well usually... the game doesnt always progress in the same ways.

2tpy does slow things down, of course, but at the cost of a really unrealistic calendar. We're working on ways to slow the game down within the 4tpy structure. I think we've made good progress so far, but I'm always open to ideas. For instance, St. Naf's idea about nerfing sea trade from the other thread might be quite effective.

MNM nerfs sea trade to a great extent, as land trade routes become more profitable and thus preferred. The result is that Greece is no longer such a trade hub, but Anatolia becomes a heck of a cash cow. Combined with the silk road bonuses, Big Blue was bigger than ever in my experience of MNM.
