    Howdy!

I enjoyed SS 4 & 5, but I'm not sure with SS 6. Correct me if I unneccessarily opened a thread, but what about the mailed knights? I'm playing England and figured so far that erecting a castle will enable them. But they don't. I'll not ask for longbowmen here, since I built all the practice ranges...argh! Still Peasant Archers! Perhaps somebody *should* do some readme? Just some tree?

The mod is great in every other aspect, but I hardly see the point in building some Knight Stables or other pretty expensive stuff if the costs outrun the output.
Did I miss something? Call me Duncecap, but I have to invade Eire soon! Har!

Did you install Real Recruitment or Byg's Grim reality on the 6.1 installer? If you clicked on those they are the reason. I would reinstall 6.1 and do not click on any submods. Later when you need a challenge give them a try.

    Yeah, I did.
And I need a challenge. I'm a TW veteran since Shogun.
But understanding is knowledge. Do you have a link or something how it works?

I would use real recruitment then http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=162997 there is also a patch to install. Also Lusted's campaign and battle AI http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=163839 and http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=163842

I would recommend you try byg's later but here is the thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=106060 there is also a patch for this one if you want to leave it installed. I have never played very far in a campaign with it myself, so I can't say much about it.

Also check out the SS FAQ http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=176298 it addresses some other things you might want to fix, especially the pirates bug.

Also watch for the upcoming final 6.2 patch in this thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=204562

    Yikes!

    Surrounded by Scots! *hiss*
About time I visit your fine country again and get some of the best whisky in the world!

Yeah, thank you. I'll check them out!

PS: Um...I'd really like an explanation on how SS 6.1 works with that. Is there no fancy pdf or mere txt?

Ahem...I'm not pretty sure if I can post it here either. But from the start on in vanilla I was concerned of the horses. They have momentum. Very. And what they gallop at (my poor english leaves me here) will usually not survive. Here they charge and one or two or even five of the infantry will fall. In vanilla. And SS. I doubt it. The guys from Rome: Total Realism did it right -- Your horses charged and the infantry flew, either in the air or from the battlefield! Just like the quote from Braveheart: "Our horses will maim them like grass!" (poorly translated! I guess).
    Mh...slightly off topic, forgive me.

If you are installing anyway, you could also consider installing the beta of SS6.2 and some other much used packages.
