    Default AI not killing heretics

I've been playing as Lithuania for a while now, and after taking most of western and eastern Europe I decided I'd try my luck in the Middle East. At first it wasn't much of a problem. I'd send in a big group of priests to start converting people then after a few turns take a settlement.

Up until a few turns ago there wasn't really anything special about my Middle Eastern expansion, but I started to notice an unusual amount of heretics in the Southern most Turkish settlements. As I sent some spies around to take a look at things in the Kwarezmian territory to the South East and into the Egyptian territory to the South I noticed something that had me confused.

None of the factions in this area were trying to kill heretics I had some assassins around so I started killing them off, but it just seemed like an unending supply of them. Most Turkish cities have at the very least 20% heresy with a few at 30%. Right up until I started going to heretic central I wasn't having any trouble with my priests, but now they're starting to turn and it's making it hard to control the heretics.

The worst thing about the whole thing is the Turks are cool with trying to flood my territory with their priests, which I make short work of with my assassins, but they make no attempt at all to kill the heretics that are causing problems in their territory.

I have a similar problem with me playing as Spain. Moors and Aragon don't bother with heretics. Also the moors littally send armies of preist's in my lands lol, and it is frustrating espically when you don't have acsess to assassins yet

I also have a similar problem playing as England. Except in Western Europe.

Perhaps many of these heretics are actually failed Imams. They were actually sent to clear out a particular high-piety heritic and the problem spread from there. I have had such an explosion of heritics occur on an island where my uber-priest suddenly turned heritic and I had to battle him purely with my 1-piety priests (I just stacked them, and then used them to train a heritic persecutos). At a time, I believe I had 10 heritics on the island and I was very glad the settlement there was a castle I had massacred.

So that could explain it as well. Some of those heritics simply turn anything under 4-piety into a heritic with ease. And in high-piety (non-heritic) areas, this will amount to a quick gain in piety for those heritics.

I just had that happen in northern Iberia. Imam went heretic, I sent my best priest in to deal with it, he turned heretic. 15 turns later the heretic's are finally dead, I think the inquisition killed the toughest. Now I have to worry about all my poor prosecuting, odd habbited god squad getting axed by the pope

I've seen Inquisitors standing right next to a heretic and doing nothing about him. They will rather turn against some of my characters.
