You might be surprised when you realise how expensive it is to have a gaming hobby. So, how much money have you spent on purchasing video games this year? You may also create a separate list on how much money you have spent for your entire video game collection.

It's over the course of a year, and I have a job, and I've already bought all the games for 2009 that I want.

If I were to add the cost of my PC machine I built.... it would have risen to around $2400.

But yes, it's still incredible. This is what I get for being a PC gamer and a PS3 gamer.

You could change the post to "last year" I think.

This was a special year since I had 6 months vacations and that I came to be intrested in wargames, abandoned MMOs plus found some oldies I never played before that where sold at very low prices. Though I do not remember the exact prices and do not have the time to translate between currencies I think I made a good deal with the crisis and the quite stable Swiss franc

Total : ~450 dollars I think. For 17 games and 6 expansions this is quite cheap.

If a add the graphic card I had to change this looks like : ~700$

So that's $109.97 CAN before applicable taxes. Not bad at all. But $700 on games...wow. I wouldn't have the time for so many games or be able to justify to myself spending $700 on them.

Heck - I don't even recall every game I bought this year...but if I had to guess as to how much, when totaled I'd say it's probably somewhere between $700 - $800

Let me attempt to justify myself...lol first off a good $201 was for RB2 Special Ed. so that would mean that for actual games...between $500 - $600

I don't tend to buy the newest and greatest games at their full prices, instead I'm that guy who searches around online and tries to find good deals on lots of older titles for like the PS2, Xbox, PC, etc

Well, for my amount, keep in mind that the great majority of this was for my PS3. PC I'm fine, mostly just bought STALKER: Clear Sky, E:TW, Fallout 3, and L4D.
