Re: The Lumbard Berserker Who Wouldnt Die
Lol i know what you mean , and i have a story of a similar person but its even more heroic in a sense:
I was in Athens as the Scipii (Vanilla, bien sur), and i had men on the walls but the attack was not easy - i had about as many men as them and only an early legionary army.
I had a few 1st legions on the walls but they were being crushed one one side by 2 units of armoured hoplites and 2 units of peasants on the other.
Needless to say, almost all of my attention was on the hoplites. But my 2 1st legions were wiped out with about 10 casualties to them.
I had one legionary left who was facing down 40 armoured hoplites behind and 2 units (120) peasants behind.
Of course all this time I was rushing to get some triarii from the other side of the gate, where they were having a hard time (they were killing and not dying well, but it was taking a looong time).
The peasants didnt move and this lone man slowly and methodically killed the 40 armoured hoplites. He then turned around and on my command, attacked the peasants!
He 'died' twice but got up again in that way that you see men do sometimes. In the end he had killed 41 + 136 = 177 kills! 40 armoured hoplites!
By the time he had killed about 10 peasants, the triarii arrived but I just let them watch...
My cavalry pushed for the centre whilst this happened and he finished a little before they got there. Unfortunately, as some casualties were healed, he was drafted into a unit of reinforcements that had not arrived initially, so i couldn't retrain him or anything
