Morning/Afternoo or Evening depending on where you are in the world

Hoping someone can help, I have been browsing the RTW Mod forums looking for good mod which will increase the play time and also be a challenge. But also looking for a mod that increase's the number of settlements on the map and even increase's the map size. One that looks interesting is the RTR Mod but can't find a list of what is added or if the map is larger than vanilla map?

Any feed back would be very grateful

Most mods add more cites and make the map larger, RTR makes the map alot larger (from Scotland to the Ganges), unify's the Roman factions and adds several others. It also adds features reskins of every unit and adds more units, as well as making the game more realistic.

You may also like Europa Barbarorum (EB) and XGM Diadochi, as they both offer what you are looking for in a mod.

XGM or XGMD both are a great challenge with any faction and have a the huge Magnus Mundi map. EB has a large map and is a challenge economically.

EB to me, is your best bet for challenging.
The character trait system is great, the factions are superbly done, the map has tons of settlements, 4 turn per year script, seasons that effect the army, I could go on....

Oh yeah! It is the best historically accurate mod out there!
Not trying to offend any mod....

EB sucks... the loading time is the equivalent to the time I spent in secondary school which was 5 years lol. As soon as I saw the unit cards I thought... forget it, loading a battle will just make it worse. EB gave me a really bad first impression. Whereas XGM and RTR gave me amazing impressions.

EB is a great mod, its just hard on your computer. It bloats the text files and is quite slow on the campaign map due to the script. Battles run as quick as RTW's battles. The detail in EB is amazing, if your computer can handle it.

You leave my banged up computer alone, its not his fault he doesnt have any decent stuff

But yeah anyway I loaded up EB and looked at the factions. The fact that I dont know any of the units annoyed me. How am I to know who to buy if I dont know their names lol.

I was getting into SPQR but its the only mod where I feel like playing as the Romans.

Roma surectum, the map isnt much bigger then the vanilla one, but the endless stacks of free people sure keep you from steamrolling... And if you are interested, RS gives u alot of legions to play with

its obious that the mod your looking for is DARTHMOD!!!!

Its the best mod out there, i find it shocking that XGM, RTR, Roma surrectum, and EB all are more famous...

Well what does Darthmod add except a new AI system? If I am correct doesnt either XGM or RTR use Darth Mod anyway lol?

DM adds lots of units, I think. Its not more well-known because a) its not being worked on b) its AI system (one of its more famous attributes) is used in many other major mods and c) There aren't any major changes from vanilla other than units and battle AI. Its still has a seperated Rome, AFAIK, and I don't know what its map looks like... (Does it use MM or RTW vanilla's map?)

Im sure all its just Vanilla with the ravamped AI... there may be several units but Im sure there isnt a major amount.

larger map, some new units, formations, as you said AI. !the full formation and AI in darthmod is'nt used in the other mods! Not slow and/or demands a good computer! Some new provincal caimpaigns ( not really good, except the campaign with larger mapand tons more settlements) also, starting posision fixed, more settlements...not too hard to get enough money, like in other mods...

EDIT: Also improves BI and it balances the phalanx, advanced ai tactics, you did'nt answer? you should try it... the only fault i noticed is crappy english in the texts
