Lost Saved Games

I don't think any of you will be able to help me with this, but I'll ask anyway. Two days ago, I played Stainless Steel 6.1 just fine. I played a campaign I had been working on for a while. Yesterday, I took my computer over to a friend's and the saved games had vanished. Coincidentally enough, we had bizarre power outages yesterday with flickering lights and I discovered later that the computer had gone off and on a few times.

But would that be enough to just delete only the SS games? It's so weird that they just disappeared like that. No trace anywhere on my computer. The game still works fine and I can save new games and all, but the old files are gone forever it seems.

Do you mean they weren't there at your friends house? if so, its because its saved on your computer.


I dont think the power shortages would damage anything unless you were using the saves at the time. is it possible that they were deleted, whether by accident or on purpose? Could they just been accidentally moved? Is the actualy save folder still there, with its contents gone?

I mean I took my computer over to my friend's to play various games over a LAN. I noticed while there that when I tried to play SS and load any of my saved games, the folder was empty.

I looked in the actual files and the save folder was there for Kingdoms and SS, but both folders were simply devoid of content. It's so bizarre. No other games seem to have been affected. I would suspect treachery if I were still at college, but this is at home where I am the only one who has access to and know-how about my computer.
