    Default Healed troops

how is it determined wether someone is dead or wounded?
asking this because the last battle I fought was with lots of heavy cav on my side and most of them fell during battle but in the end I had only lost like 150 men(during battle like 400 fell)
    I'm using SS 6.1(actually 6.2 rc3) RR/RC +CBUR+BFTB+BIGIV with big ai

I'm not sure but I've always sorta wondered on the side how the heck stuff like that gets figured out. I mean, you literally see them get shot by a Monster Bombard and the aftermath, shows something along the lines of 5 dead 9 wounded. I don't know.

    thanks for the answer
thats true, how can someone who gets hit by half a ton of stone be "wounded"
they probably count as wounded as long as they didn't realize they were dead
lol I often found myself even leading armies of mostly"undead"(people hit by artillery and burnt to death by trebuchet bullets etc.)
well lets just hope someone who knows see this thread and answers

im pretty sure it depends what takes them down. AFAIK missile kills and lighter infantry kills tend to get healed more since they're not getting torn to pieces (compare getting shot by an arrow or stabbed by a spear to getting smashed in the face by a zweihander and heavy horse) so im pretty sure that determines how well your guys come out of it.

I can't remember the way the game figures it out, but I'm confident it is unmoddable.
We all looked into this along time ago.

Traits like battle surgery or ancillaries like the apocathery increase the chance of wounded recovery.
The chances seem random, rather than death by certain means. I've seen units burned to crisp via mangonels resurrect.

An empiric observation, not sure but I have the impression that troops felled by arrows tend to recover more than those killed by melee.

I also ahve the impression that heavily armoured troops felled by low quality troops tend to often recover(as it should be)(example norman knoghts beaten by sudanese spearmen 90% of my norman knoghts got healed)

troops suffering from gun or siege weapon fire seem to recover more often than troops that fight close combat, is there anyway to mod this? because it's not very realistic that a man shot or burned to death survives

I dont think it has anything to do with what happens during the battle itself but rather who wins.

When u win you seem to get a small percentage of your troops back. At least that how it looks to me.

yeah maybe..the ai seem to get alot of troops back no matter how they die, but it's diffrent for human players, they usually don't get so many resurections, at least from my own expirence..

AI generals get battle hardened trait which gives them extra command, loyalty, and increased battle surgery.

Sorry for off-topic, but what are those mods? RR is real recruitment, but what is BIG IV? And the others?
