Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Alliances
Up to now, regardless of your faction standing and global reputation every faction would accept your alliance proposal, even your worst enemy!
From now on alliances with factions, that you have bad relations with are no longer for free. Without paying a tribute, you won't be able to achieve an alliance agreement, if your relations are bad.
Trade Rights
Trade rights are an important instrument to boost your factions trade income. Although trade rights are mutually beneficial, it seems odd to me, that even the factions with the worst reputation or that share abyssmal relations get trade rights for free!
Again this was changed. To achieve a trade agreement with an enemy faction will require you to pay tribute, depending on the faction standing. Trade rights with friendly factions will still be for free.
Military Access
In M2TW military access is actually of little use, as there is no attrition model and it only prevents that your relations with another faction suffer, when you cross their lands.
Although, I have lowered the restrictions to achieve military access with an allied faction, it still depends on your faction relations and your global reputation. So an ally with bad relations to you won't provide you access for free. However, at the same time I have lowered the faction standing penalty that you get for trespassing neutral or allied territory without having military access.
Installation: not save compatible to DLV 5.6, or 5.74, 5.8_openbeta2
- install kingdoms patch 1.5 !!!!!
- clean Install DLV 5.0 + 5.6 (no addons or...)
- If you have 5.74 or 5.8_openbeta2 already you can put 5.80_3 just over it
- Execute file Deus_lo_Vult_58_openbeta_3_Install.exe and enter the correct path for the installation
Example: C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War
(For Germans change it to: C:\Programme\SEGA\Medieval II Total War !!!!)
Ignore the warnings of write protected files !
Don't close the pop-up windows even if takes minutes to perform, wait until they close by themselves.
Please report feedback !
There will be no new factions in DLV !
If you want any DLV parameters changed: merc spawn rate, point system,.... , please discuss it here !
If you want more buildings or i do not know what....please propose it here
Bugs openbeta3:
- Norwegian Huscarls' shield and axe textures are a bit messed up
they use their 2h axe as a one handed
- Some other knights with the heater shield have their textures a bit wrong
- Hirdman rebels at Visby are invisible
- Unique kings on battlefield works only with the first king and heir

so far so good, playing as irish in 1226 vh/vh, no crashes, money was easy to get in the start but now it's a struggle to stay in the black.
battles are tough, almost all of my fights could go either way.
trade rights seam easier to get than the previous beta
suggestion: the only thing i ever disliked in DLV was the tutons disappearing at a certain age, it made using them as a guild less attractive, since dlv isn't going for historical accuracy it may be nice to script an event where you have to make a choice, disban the tuton guild or have france declar war on you and take a hit on the popal approval raiting.

I think Military/Goverment point system adds a lot of depth to the game. Below you can find a couple of ideas which might improve the system.
Could war declaration reduce goverment points? Say -5 for war declaration, -1 each turn while war is ongoing which could describe war exhaustion. This should make sense in a medieval society already if you had a war going on, goverments didnt put that much focus on govermental improvements. On the other hand if you've been in peace for x years you could get +1 each turn describing the focus shifting to govermental and economic improvements.
Stochastic economic events are integrated already. Maybe these same effects could be tied to the war status as well. When the war is raging trade is reduced and improved again once there's peace.
The point system itself is a good idea and I'm hoping there a way to make it even more intuitive.
Time to go back and smack some rebel skulls. Keep up the good work!
@Raaka
Yeah, it could be interesting.
PS: If your faced with all the problems in the beginning, then you will become accustom to the ups and downs, and the later era will go easy by. but I feel the player should get more and more problems starting in late era. Thats why I loved the Civil war, Dark ages and the Plague. It was so unknown and I feard my Universal kingdome would collapse.
There is also the problem: Were shold the difficulty-line go? Should experienced DLV-ers get more advanced mod, or more friendly-version for the not so experienced players to get a easier time.
XP user: The scenario maps worked great man, loved thoose wagons. It would be awsome if thoose were the new buildable field forts.
(Enough poking) Thanks for letting me play the most active mod in TW-history.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

This is the only forum I visit with any sort of frequency and I'm glad it has provided a home for RTR since its own forum went down in 2007. Hopefully my donation along with others from TWC users will help get the site back to its speedy heyday, which will certainly aid us in our endeavor to produce a full conversion mod Rome2.
Historical campaign: why is Bolognese-Milanese garrison that strong? 20 units, two units of dismounted feudal knights amongst them, not to mention six non-italian "town militia" units...
It is the center of all Europe. The riches peope in the world live there. All the pilrgrims, noble, traders travells through northen europe to get to the Holy father. It's the port of
Italy.

Has the AI been adjusted for players that play unlimited reinforcements so there are no game freezes in those
situations with reinforcements?
Is there a way to get you to consider to make DLV have military campaigning seasons? Using the 4 season or winter every 4 turns? Not looking to have 4 turns a year but just winter every 4 turns. As of now DLV has an annoying winter every other move and detracts from having a military campaign that you could plan for more appropriately.
Hi there,
I have also had this problem ctd's on building selection panel/unit build selection panel after
a battle usually.
Same error log,try this In your DLV/Data Folder open the descr_faction_standing.txt file, find
the entry Destroy RELIGIOUS STRUCTURE Pagan.
There are 3 entries for Destroy_Temple_Velnias change the line
Condition SettlementBuildingFinished = so it reads
Condition BuildingName = for all 3 save it.
This seems to stop the Destroy_Temple_Velnias errors and some ctd's.
yours amby
First of all, let me say that I just plain love DLV. I've tried over 10 mods, and though "realistic" or "combat-friendly", they all sucked compared to this. Of course DLV has tons of bugs, the same way the original game was bugged, and this is a one-man project. So, it's completely understandable. But, there are a few things I'd like to point out:
-Please, tell me how to change the Russian and Lithuanian Generals Rally Shout, please! I've changed the .wav for Rally shouts on "EE Bodyguard", but still nothing... When they charge they also make that awful sound of a hurt Seal. I would be demoralized if I heard my own general do that...
-Another thing in mind, is that if there are two rows of enemies, and you command your missile infantry to attack the one further away, they will attack the first, even if "fire at will" is disabled. They always attack the closest enemy line.
-And finally, can units have more cohesion? I mean, sometimes, after a charge, both infantry and cavalry, get too spread out and never reunite. Sometimes a few soldiers even go to another enemy unit and just walk. They do not respond to your orders, and when they do, instead of running, they just walk (and the whole unit walks because of those slacks). It's kind of annoying, dunno if it's supposed to be like that, but it was the one thing that actually bothers me of the bugs of DLV.
@Don Franco, regarding Cavalry spread
search Cavalry spread in the DLV section. Then I promise you my son - your question will be heard.

DLVelving into the DLVevelopment oracle reveals the up an' coming DLV 6.0 will have several set up options (seen when starting 5.8 3rd openbeta games). It would be good (if at all possible) that battlefield Cav Spread was a set up option too.
