    Default Rome's failure due to deliberate misplacement of eras specific events

    The actual time they've tried to represent was not the time of migrations.
    It's eventually bad move, like CA trying to represent Medieval period by including inquisitors firstly before they time, secondly prosecuting nobles or even royal blood-line ,while in true they even hardly could get a commoner male into their hands mainly torturing lone females,widows of the harsh times or maybe latent lesbians,whose alone living was a spite to rigid patriarchal society;and yes since feudal society was on the way to collapse inquisition was kind of reactionary instrument to prolong it existence .
    So with 2 migrations in times when "Rome" set :
    1. Of course migration of Celts into territory of modern Turkey-founding of Galatia.It was not chaotic move, but invitation by one of the kingdoms near Nikomedia.
    Celts attended to rob Delphi's Oracle on their way,as everyone else would ,of course(Bagdad state museum few years before ),which was saved,according laughably "reliable" ancient Greek history ,with it's billions of Persians poping-up from every corner,by Divine lightning which sent Celts routed in fear .
    2. Second was not even a migration, but Rome's insistence to help their neighbors in Gaul against the wrath of Cimbri,latest being either Germanized Celts either having their ruling family with Celtic relation have felt themselves unhappy probably due the unfulfilled hereditary claims on leadership in one of the tribes in Gaul and their local allies,whom they
    begun to attack, Rome's entering into the fray in order to get military presence in the area,they of course did not move troops back after conflict,was not due deliberate attack on any Roman area,at least not before Rome due to its Imperial greed ,has not messed into it itself-so nothing like that game attempts to show .

    Shortly to summarize it all up : Paradox's failed
    to design the game able to reflect the era's eventual athmosphere, instead rushed the events of later eras-Great Migrations, triggered by the incoming of Hunnic horde, into the time when game is set which led to pseudo-historicity,which people just couldn't stomach and was the main reason of game's failure...

    Fitz Salnarville, Duke William's favourite knyghte,
    To noble Edelwarde his life dyd yielde;
    Withe hys tylte launce hee stroke with thilk a myghte,
    The Norman's bowels steemde upon the feeld.
    Old Salnarville beheld hys son lie ded, 235
    Against Erie Edelward his bowe-strynge drewe;
    But Harold at one blowe made tweine his head;
    He dy'd before the poignant arrowe flew.
    So was the hope of all the issue gone,
    And in one battle fell the sire and son

    wouldnt say the time stuff is really the major thing thats wrong. its the gameplay involved. the map simply isnt populated enough... the map isnt large enough.. so on so forth

    The historical accuracy doesn't bother me at all, but as Carach says, the map needs to be populated more. The whole north-east Europe section of the map is blank (barbarian states). It would've been nice to have a bit more variety in that area other than Suebii or Dacia.
