    Default Some Noob Questions..

Hi, just downloaded Stainless Steel today after buying Kingdoms..

    1. Im wondering what file does SS use for the length of years, money earned, rebel spawn rate and so forth? Rome/Medieval II seemed to use the descr_strat file to alter these things but I cant see where to do that for SS (I like a long, defencive & slow game with almost no rebels).

    2. What the heck is in the Irish faction? Usually I look at the custom battles to ponder over what units each faction can use, but Ireland doesnt seem to be at all selectable here. Id feel lame playing the game for hours only to find out they have units I may not want.

    3. Early vs Late era campaigns.. Can I just play early and go right the way though? I am hope it doesnt stop suddenly, kick you to main menu and require you to start a late campaign? Id like to start right at the beginning and work my way through all ages within the same campaign you see. Is it possible?

    4. Is there any help anywhere? I was hoping to find a manual PDF somewhere so I wouldnt have to troll through forums.

    Thanks

    1. try C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War [default directory]\mods\SS\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt

    2. like lordextra0 said.

    3. No, they're two different campaigns, but I strongly recommend you play the late campaign [faster phased - more active AI factions - overall it's much more action oriented if that's what you prefer].

    4. The only manual I know is called "start game".

Awesome, thanks for answering the questions

I agree by the way, the late era campaign does seem better.

    Always there to help.
Reap the promised end to the struggle. Reap every point on our linear path.
Reap the smiles in time we borrow, every harvest relies on the last.
Reap the promising song of the sparrow, that they learned from the birth of sea.
Silenced by the threnody of the crows. Reap the fallen fruit of the dogwood tree.
But I witnessed in all this silence one soul's definition of beauty. and a backlit smile so temporary.
A facade so rich with evil history. Cast in direct opposition set to overwhelm this moment to shine and sleep.
came out on top of what was borrowed, and found all that beauty to be still...

Reinstall SS 6.1 (the patch) and un-tick the option for installing RR and BGR.
