    Default Improved bribery

    As some of you may know bribery is very hard/broken
    I seem to have partially solved it. In my test runs i was able to bribe any army led by a captain as long as i had the money (paid like 9000 for half a stack will need to look into this some more) i was also able to bribe any
    diplomat(2-3 stars were the only ones I encountered). ALL of the bribing was done by a
    2 or 3 star diplomat. my file does not seem to work for settlements...yet
    anyway I don't know how this affects generals. Should be compatible with ANY mod and save compatibility(I used SS 6.2 Rc3 as the base)
    please give feedback so i can make this better earlier (this is a beta so some weard things might happen like being able to bribe an
    extremely loyal general for not much money but I it hasn't lead to any
    crashes yet) again please give me feedback. Suggestions are also very welcome.

    MAKE SAFETY COPIES

    replace the bribery stuff in descr_campaign_db with this

    basic version, use this and then make your own changes

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    <bribery>
    <bribe_to_family_tree bool="false"/>
    <base_character_chance float="1.0"/>
    <religion_modifier float="0.66"/>
    <combined_attribute_modifier float="0.2"/>
    <briber_attribute_divisor float="1.0"/>
    <bribee_attribute_divisor float="1.0"/>
    <army_size_modifier float="0.0"/>
    <base_settlement_chance float="1.0"/>
    <settlement_loyalty_modifier float="0.0"/>
    <settlement_population_modifier float="0.0"/>
    <faction_standing_divisor float="1.0"/>
    <max_bribe_chance float="100.0"/>
    <min_bribe_chance float="100.0"/>
    <bribe_chance_modifier float="1.0"/>
    </bribery>

    or use this of you want to try all changes I made(contains some experimental values but still is compatible with any mod and cras/bug free)

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    <bribery>
    <bribe_to_family_tree bool="false"/>
    <base_character_chance float="1.0"/>
    <religion_modifier float="0.66"/>
    <combined_attribute_modifier float="0.2"/>
    <briber_attribute_divisor float="1.0"/>
    <bribee_attribute_divisor float="1.0"/>
    <army_size_modifier float="0.01"/>
    <base_settlement_chance float="1.0"/>
    <settlement_loyalty_modifier float="0.1"/>
    <settlement_population_modifier float="0.00001"/>
    <faction_standing_divisor float="1.0"/>
    <max_bribe_chance float="100.0"/>
    <min_bribe_chance float="100.0"/>
    <bribe_chance_modifier float="1.0"/>
    </bribery>

    here's a tutorial so everyone can change it, to their liking if you don't understand something just ask

    <bribe_to_family_tree bool="false"/> this seems to be wether a bribed person joins you family tree
    <base_character_chance float="1.0"/> this seems to be a basic modifier (the higher the higher the chance that they want to be bribed)
    <religion_modifier float="0.66"/> how much religion difference or sameness affects the want to be bribede
    <combined_attribute_modifier float="0.2"/> seems to be how much all the persons attributes combined make him less/more bribeable
    <briber_attribute_divisor float="1.0"/> how much the diplomats/princesses skill affects the bribery chance
    <bribee_attribute_divisor float="1.0"/> same as above but for the guy being bribed
    <army_size_modifier float="0.01"/>how much army size affects the want to be bribed(maybe even price)
    <base_settlement_chance float="1.0"/> base chance of bribing settlement
    <settlement_loyalty_modifier float="0.1"/> modifier for settlement loyality(affects chance of being bribed)
    <settlement_population_modifier float="0.00001"/> as above but population is taken into account
    <faction_standing_divisor float="1.0"/> facctoin standing (how much faction standings affect you chance to bribe) I think it's this that makes it impossible to bribe rebels
    <max_bribe_chance float="100.0"/> with these I had the best experiences to put both min and max on 100.. if it isn't 100 theres a random chance the person will reuse, if you ask again they may accept so if both 100 then you instantly know wether you can bribe this turn with this diploat/princess)
    <min_bribe_chance float="100.0"/>

    Hello there,

    Well it was nice to see some 1 do something about this ridicilous hard bribing issue.
    So i changed the settings, but ingame things didnt change.

    Whatever i try, even with ahalf stack, they just wont do an offer.

    There was a nice 5 star rebel genereal but i cant persuate him.
    Also with normal captains none wants to be bribed?

    Is there any other suggestion available??????

    Thx in advance

    Thx for reply,

    Well i have 120000 at the mom. and tried it with zero and a 4 star diplomat.

    Its true i only tried to bribe rebel stacks.

    The newest thing is that a plain commander with a half stack of worthless troops wanted to change sides for 58000 which is way to much. But the matter was that i wanted that 5 star rebel general to join ranks but hes stubern.

    I used the 2nd suggestion on your thread.

    I will now try to bribe a faction general....will see. Oaw btw i have patch 6.2 RC3 installed...its way more of a challenge then RC2. My goodness my oponents are now clever and merciless to me.

    I want to bribe El Cid... :original:
    If you just want El-Cid, theres a much simpler way. I can't remember the details, but in one file, it shows details for all factions. Among those details are allowing Princesses, and having a Family Tree. The Rebel faction has neither, I can't remember which it was, but enabling them should allow you to use a Princess to Marry El-Cid.

    I did it on an Aragon campaign once. Killed off the previous family, thus he became my King, and I kept his bloodline "pure". Needless to say, he certainly was pretty good at the whole "Reconquista" thing

    It's great that there's so much interest in this
    I will make a tutorial very soon(based on my knowledge and experience obviously)
    my tests were mostly in italy since there are lots of people very close so I don't have to watch
    my diplomat walk a few turns before I can test

    sorry for my ignorance but who's el cid?

    El Cid was a Castilian noblemen. In SS, he is a rebel general and controls Valencia if I'm not mistaken.

    So which one of the two should I use? Is the 2nd one still experimental?

    2nd one is still experimental because I don't have enough evidence to support my idea
    basically if you want the most let's say logical bribery i could get this far use the first one
    only use the second one if you used the furst one and want to help me find out wehter my changes had any noticeable effect

    It appears to me that second version is more appropriate since it deals with unit size, settlement loyalty and population when estimating amount of bribe cash. The first version disregards the mentioned data, which is no good. I'm gonna try the second.

    first version is like normal just that you KNOW wether you can bribe in this turn with this diplomat etc.
    the second version is with changes to the the values, but i'm still not 100% clear as to how much they affect the game so choosing number 2 is certainly more appropriate if you want a full version with all my changes number 1 is basically just the basic build on which you can make your own changes

    @Rozanov
    the ai doesn't seem to act differently it just has a more likely chance of bribing+ I'm not experiencing the diplomat/princess stands next to my city 1000 turn bug any more with my newest changes that is
