    The Kingdom of Aerona:

Land of the Sun, and the Eagle
    ...

The city of Aerona was founded only 200 years ago, at the time it was a small fishing village. As the years passed the village and the ruling family grew in power, it was not long until it had the size of a city. This city expanded as surrounding villages joined it to form the city-state of Aerona. With expansion came power, influence, and enemies…

To the south lies the kingdom of Thalassinus which was founded some decades before Aerona. A fierce rivalry between the two has existed ever since the founding of Aerona, with both kingdoms fighting over trade routs to the south wars were quite common. When the city-state of Aerona besieged and captured cities in the middle and south of the three rivers to strengthen their position and eliminating rivalling cities which were allied with Thalassinus, they declared themselves a ‘Kingdom’.

With Aerona declaring themselves ’Kingdom’, a full scale war begun. For the kingdom of Thalassinus, still angry of the attack on his allies, this was the last act of hostility. They prepared two massive armies to lead the assault on the kingdom of Aerona. And so the 1st major war begun, Aerona fought for their survival during the five years of war. In the end Aerona was able to rescue itself by the smallest of margins from being wiped out from the face of the planet. After this war many more followed, Aerona frequently raided border provinces, and the kingdom of Thalassinus launching an invasion.

Over the years of war the Aeronian army gained a lot of experience, but in the same time also lost valuable numbers. To the south a new power had risen, this new power had concurred a massive territory ranging from the southern lake up to the sea. This power, called Denuncio Medulli, was hungry for more. The kingdom of Aerona knew it wasn’t able to defend itself from the massive armies of the Medulli, and the kingdom of Thalassinus were certain they would be next if Aerona were to fall. A week after war broke out between the Medulli and the kingdom of Aerona, an truce was made between he people of Aerona and Thalassinus. For the first time in over a hundred years a peace between the two was agreed on, an uneasy peace. The two kingdoms were to aid each other in the war with the Medulli.

The Denuncio Medulli have now launched a full scale attack to conquer the city of Aerona. The two kingdoms still crippled by the centuries of war, have rallied one last army. A last stand to defend the city of Aerona, and the future of the two kingdoms.

Hmmm Im not sure how to approach this... it does not seem to gel quite just yet. I think you need to go deeper into fantasy as at the moment it looks more parallel.

Riiiiight... anyway I think more depth needs to be added. With fantasy or Parrallel universes there always needs to be a story towards it. Building a mod without a story will only make the player a barbarian fighting for no such reason. We need to know why were fighting.

Take my Alagaesia:Tw. We know it is set 200 years after the Eragon book and is based on a dragon lord who has been resurrected. This fantasy of yours needs a plot my friend.

I can only advise you rethink that. When creating a mod you have your factions... why are these factions here now?... how have they survived?... it is best to start with a main power within your mod. Like in Vanilla it would be Rome and in my Alagaesia it would be the Legion Of Dragons... have a faction who is superior but give them a large disadvantage once that has been done you can string of different points.

Love the Rhino by the way. Something I am going to use in Alagaesia:Tw is Lion tamers. Work like the war dogs but their lions. Would be good if the african factions in your mod could do that with the Rhino... as I dont think Rhino's like to be ridden lol.

i've been thinking, and i think its best if i cut the map in half and use the southern part.
    this would have many advantages,
*i have a global idea of whats happening there
    *one big war
*way more detail on the campaign map
*some more exotic units, and factions
    *i forgot the others

this would however mean the following,
*environment will be desert, savanna, some rain forest and the like
*the campaign map will be re-built using the old(which isn't that bad)

    any opinions on this?

First of all , nice work !
But second , stop referring to your mod , Lord Dakier .. i'm sorry if i sound offending , but you have said Alagaesia already for about 5 times in 3 posts -_-" .. yes , we know it's great , but let this guy do his job (Wich , btw , he's doing great) .. Furthermore , i never saw Eragon or read the books , but i still wanna play your mod So , why they are fighting isn't the most important for me , what matters are -for me- the map , gameplay , faction differences (not 5 muslims and 5 christians like in M2TW) and unit designs .. Such as your Rhino , who is absolutely stunning !

Its called giving advice. I prefer to compare a new mod with my mod plus one of the best mods. I would rather see people create good mods than having to test out these lesser ones. In all honesty I like the sound of this mod and in good respect I would love to play a mod which excites me more than mine and to do that I feel it best to give advice.

I almost forgot who will have this Rhino by the way?

quick update on the rhino, he's only available in the area of the southern lake, and a special armored version will be available to 1 faction only

this guy will ride the armored(expensive) rhino, that's why he's wearing golden armor

the rhino only needs a skeleton and new animations before i can put em in game
ill give a small preview of the unit(s) within a day or 2

@giovi, thanks i might use the 2nd one for the jungle faction, but i might have flags instead of shields for faction icons so ill do a little editing on it

    quick unit preview,

    Te Malum

its thick natural armor defends it from arrows and javelins, they are hard to kill and very deadly in combat, if used wisely.
your enemy's will run in terror when they see this beast in the ranks of your army.
it is however very costly to train and upkeep this unit

    Te Malum Eximius
better trained and armored then the normal unit, this special one is more expensive and more deadly.
    trainable exclusively to one faction
