    Default CTD when finishing battles

Hello, I've been getting a lot of ctds when finishing a battle, when the splash screen is supposed to appear the game just crashes... does anyone else have this problem, has this been fixed?

It doesn't happen every time I play a battle, just sometimes... btw I already installed the 1.2 recommended fixes. thank you!

Not that consistent, but in the bug reports forum we have a thread that is talking about this exact problem. I wonder if there is a more "general" reason for this crash. Have you tweaked your registry at all? It seems odd that more people wouldn't have this problem, I too have it and though I haven't seen it in awhile (Like two days), I quicksave before every battle. Currently i'm in 217BC and taking it real slow, meticulously managing every aspect the whole time. Check out the bug forum and see Pashtuns thread, maybe we will figure this out.

You might want to start another thread with same title, but here is the thread I was talking about, its the 2nd part of the 3rd post -> Click

I'm getting this, too ... fairly consistently after every 5-7 battles.

Upgraded my drivers for my Radeon HD 3600 to 8-12 (latest version) and thought I'd licked the crash. Played 21 battles as Romani with no crash, then, whammo. Now I'm getting a crash about every six battles again, always at the end of the battle after getting the battle report and clicking to go back to the strategic map.

I've got the same problem (don't need to start a new post now ).

I've had it with 2 factions so far on EB 1.2. It isn't random at all it seems.

1st) while playing Rome the game persistently crashed as I fought the Lusotanni (!). And I was fighting a lot of foes, but only with them it crashed everytime I fought a battle myself, or captured a city. After restarting the game and reloading the save things worked fine, until the next battle.

2nd) while playing the Ptolemaioi the game persistently crashes as I fight the Seleucids and take a town (and I'm not talking about that ANNOYING crash that happens when you capture 2 or more cities in 1 turn - what's with that anyways?).

In both cases the crash wasn't persistent in the sense that it disabled me to play on (those are annoying when you have a fine empire), but it isn't exactly fun to play if I have to restart the game every 2 turns...

The CTD after battles seemed to disappear for me, Now I have gotten a few during the battle, fairly consistent as well.

I've been going through some of the bugs on the ORG, and there doesn't appear to be any answers to this, I think only some of us are experiencing it.

EDIT: I also am playing as Rome, and it is the year 212BC

For me it was random, and it disappeared. I have fought so many battles since then in Iberia especially, and haven't seen it since.. At one point, I thought I noticed something that may have caused it... but I can't put my finger on it now, when I start my new campaign I swear I will figure this darn error out. Right now I am in 206BC, and I have brought the Lusotanians from 160k in treasury to nothing!, I have beaten stack after stack... and no CTD like the ones I faced earlier, even in this conflict on the bridges just outside Emporium.

It makes me wonder, What happens after the battle... Traits are acquired, Casualties are healed... I just don't understand, or rather, haven't figured it out. Keep playing, keep reloading and always do a reboot after these crashes, I play in short stints since my time is so hemmed. I can honestly say though, I have this CTD, and Its not resurfaced for me for the last 30 or so battles. (I know its not reassuring, but its hope!)

BTW, I am playing as Rome.

Happy New Years all of us

It might just be in people's heads, but many have said that leaving the victory screen up for a while and waiting a dozen seconds or so before leaving the battle have reduced post battle CTDs.

Common reasons for mid-battle CTDs can be sprite problems (fixed with the fixes) or just overtaxing your hardware/hardware-drivers.

I haven't played for a while bc I've been playing Stainless Steel (already got bored... all med2 related mods and the game itself is too easy, prolly going back to EB after I finish another game I've been playing).

    BUT...

I already had all the fixes installed and that fixed 1 crash I was getting when fighting Carthage (I suppose it was a missing sprite).. i THINK playing on windowed mode actually fixed my after-battle-crash...

I ask again, has anyone else tried and confirmed this ?
