I disagree with that. Scytians are fun to fight with. You must out flank the enemy time after time, charge into them from behind, retreat, charge etc.

i meant which faction do u hate to face in the battle. to fight against it. those scythians are my nightmares!

Yes infantry battles are more fun, that's true. But still, cavalry battles are also not bad.

Well.... in that case I have to say that fighting with infantry against the Purple Horse Archers of Doom is a disaster^^

In my Parthian campaign, they are poured over Causasian Mountains into my empire and their armies are consist of elite and armoured horse archers. Not the mention the javelin cavalry.. It is really really hard to even approach to them because of incredible arrow and javelin storm..If your lucky and get into melee with them armoured elite horsarchers cut you down into pieces...

whenever i face in battle,a big army of elite horse units of scythians i try to attack them as quickly as possible but no matter what i do i get defeated.
i play H/H and i have tried armies with cavalry - hoplites - thorakitai - slingers- archers but nothing. only if they are few and i have a very big army i win
they just kill you from distance, while you cannot catch them. in the last battle i had many units of sarmatians plus heavy greek cavalry and i lost once again. they have extremely strong statistics and very fast moving!
i do naval attacks and conquer their cities in order to distract them plus building fortresses to delay them.

Nothing worse than facing overpowered stacks of heavy infantry.
Sacred bands and the like are the only thing that can face them in the line and even heavy cavalry has serious problems dealing with them.
Before the patch slingers and numidians could take care of them but now there is no effective way...

even with Greek city states? i was beating them quite easily! good old phalanx in the center to hold them while using cavalry to get on their backs and thorakitai at the flanks. 1 or 2 units of spartan perioicoi or 1 royal guard helps a lot!

Scythians are the worst for me. really tough times with them. i think i hate them .

Agreed. Even if you get them in place say on a phalanx then charge them they usually don't flee and then use their javelins against my horses which usually ends up inflicting heavy casualties.
For me the faction I hate fighting would probably be any that spam missile horses so namely Sycthia etc etc.

I love fighting romans with a Greek phalanx. The trick is to not draw a standard line. But by kind of combining the the phalanx formaition with the manipular formation and sending certain units in at a time and reinforcing them as it continues. Then the cavalry comes. I love smashing Romans.
