    Default Longevity of EuIII games...

    I've recently played this game (EU3 complete) quite alot lately. I'm on my 3rd game of what I call "learning it." I think I have a pretty good grasp of the gameplay now. I'm still playing on easy, my next game will be on normal for sure.

    I Started as Milan 1399. It's now 1555. I have sucessfully created Italy and have taken all of Central America. I'm raking the cash in, 1st in tech, 2nd in Armies and 1st in Navy. (I learned the hard way about Navy. lost my entire 1st fleet in one war with Castille.) I am #2 overall. I think Ming is still #1.

    Anyway, I feel like this game is pretty much over. I'm at that point where I think I'm invincable. Is this the case, or does the game have more in store for me? Does the game graduate to a nation scale? If ya know what I mean??

    Any input would be great!

    I play multiplayer, which means I'm competing with real humans, and this makes for a MUCH more interesting game, cause there's no point at which I'm invincible.

    Think you're invincible? Take on France and try to carve out an empire in Europe, that's hard. In the end your reputation and war exhaustion will eat you alive.

    Seriously, the French are the most difficult game I've played.

    Yeah I've played Novgorod, Muscovy, and the Byzantine Empire starting in 1399. Still haven't tried any of the Irish factions. Muscovy was my favorite so far, but yeah taking on the Golden Horde was difficult. France is difficult for me because I have a hard time starting out with a large landmass and with so many potential enemies on so many different fronts.

    Really?? I've always found the "Majors" to be rather easy to play. Particularly a major like France or Castille. I mean with France you can just literally overwhelm most other nations with your advantage in manpower. Then once you've picked up Military Drill your pretty much off and running. Your main enemy is pretty much yourself in terms of keeping WE and BB manageable.

    @OP
    You definately need to get off easy and go up a few notches. I always play with Mid-level to Minor nations. My favorites probably being the Italian minors. I'm having a blast in my current Venice campaign on hard with Lucky Nations On. I'm in a war with the Ottoman Turk where there land forces outnumber mine at least 3 to 1. Good thing my crazy Venetians who love to throw down with super powers are masters of the Mediterreanean. That's not likely to do me much good though when the Hapsburg's come knockin real soon. Good times indeed.

    Try a harder setting with Lucky Nations on. Of course there is always MP as it's been suggested or you may like to try a mod like Magna Mundi that makes things a bit tougher.

    I will try Multiplayer eventually...

    I have been to war with France, Hungry, Venice and Castille all at once. It was a harrowing time. Venice payed dearly for that war. Maybe I've just hit a lull in the action. I'll keep going see what happens next. I am eyeing the Greece. Hungary and Byz are in trouble...

    For Italy!!

    Try sticking the difficulty level up and playing as a non European nation. I've had many enjoyable games playing as the Ottomans and infiltrating Europe. Failing that MP is always a buzz or you can always get into other Paradox games. I am a massive fan of Hearts of Iron.

    The French are the beasts of that game imo.....Getting pounded is not easy once you kick the Brits out.
    "Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."
