    Default UnInstallation Complication, FRUSTRATION

    Hello,
I am TheMadMonk and I downloaded your mod yesterday. It worked stupendously and I had a great time with it, you guys rock. But I tried to run NTW II and it failed, so I realized, Ahah!, this great game corrupted those mod's 'cause of the whole unmodified Rome stuff for the other mods to work.

I liked your mod a lot but I'm sorry, I just would rather have Vanilla, AUP, XGM, NTW II, Res Gestae, TTW, PI and ROP. Hehe, no wonder my computer is slow...

So I attempted to uninstall RTW, then reintall it to override RS. I went to Add or Remove Programs, selected Rome:Total War and pressed Remove. After a few seconds of inactivity I receive a message that says:
    "RUNDLL

    Error Loading C:*\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\RunTime\11\50\Intel32\ctor.dll

The Specified Module could not be found"

*Was added for smiley prevention. Just pretend it's not there, because if it isnt it looks like this

    'C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\RunTime\11\50\Intel32\ctor.dll'

My mother, who is familiar with computer, said that the ~ meant it was a temporary file.

I also Noticed that the last letter of all the firtst few words was replaced by the ~, eg
    PROGRA~, not PROGRAM
    INSTAL~, not INSTALL

In my haste/stupidity I never made a backup file of RTW and I deleted anything even relating to RTW, like all the mods, the data, saves and preferences file. So Not a scrap of RTW is left on my computer, as in I erased the entire 'The Creative Assembly' file the Rome was housed in. (I have Gold).

But to no avail! It still remains on my computer and I have tried to reinsert the disk but the install option is grayed out.

    Any Idea's?

    Thank you,
    TheMadMonk

Try going into My Computer, right click the drive that the cd is inserted in, explore, and find the installation .exe or whatever. That should install it. If for some reason that doesn't work... Then I don't know, but give that a shot.

Which is why there are very clear instructions that RS will break anything else.

The answer is easy though, once you get it uninstalled and RTW up and running again, and is to make two or three copies of the vanilla folder and install RS into one of those.

No, it's just a way of shortening the filename so it doesn't go for pages and pages.

I think the early versions of Windows didn't allow filenames to be larger than so many characters. This limit is no longer there.
