    Default The EUSSR

This is scary, how do you Europeans feel when you see politicians/ex communist revolutionaries clawing more power for themselves and away from the constitutions you forged?

Which unsurprisingly contains no actual explanation at all............

You don't find it odd that all the politicians can say is not about the actual statements made but complaining that they were actually recorded?

Seems to be the problem with any big government it gets to be less and less about the people and more and more about big buisnis
Actually it seems that the politicians have more contempt for the voters then anything els.

Yeah and then he manages to say that there is no place for that in a democracy ? I mean seriously so lets keep the people from knowing what their politicians think ?

I think the EU need to be dismantled down to a purely economic union and then rebuilt with a interly diffrent ruleset. With more opennes more democrasy and much less power to the central EU parliament.
I also think contrys shud allway retain there rigth to veto anything the parliament decieds so that we can keep these pepole from detroying aour contrys.

What a stupid vid. It has some nice underlining fearmongering music, but it takes out several complicated points being taken out of their context. The vid then jumps to some rather exaggurated conclusions. Thsi is just the sort of populistic instrumentalizing of fear the representant Scholz whas talking about.

btw.Whats up with those union-jacks, what are they thinking(bunch of hools)

I agree the music is silly.

But don`t you find the contempt shown by many EU politicians toward the people they are suppose to be serivg to be frightening ?

When politicians starts thinking they always know better and shud therefor not have to listen to the people then wea re heading in the wrong dircetion.

What`s wrong with the union jack ?

That is actually a pretty interesting point for discussion.

Arguably, a person in charge should definitely know better.

And while I generally support democracy as a form of governance, I don't blind myself to the fact that an average consensus and approval of "the people" is no scale by which to judge good/bad or right/wrong. "The people" and their decisions are necessarily completely average.

That is part of the reason why most states have representative democracies, not direct ones.

The referendum in Ireland is actually a very good example: the result was the popular choice, true. But was it the 'right' choice? I mean, some very necessary reforms can be necessarily unpopular.

(mind you describing the Union flag as a flag for hooligans does'nt sound very much in the spirit of European unity does it?)

Yeah, he sounds a bit of a tit. He seemed so shocked by the audacity of the Czech media to find out what the politicians were saying. My word, what sort of democracy is this that the people actually want to know what these scumbags actually stand for.......
