I thought this video was amazing and pretty shocking, however it sort of made me feel insignificant. What you guys think? Was your "mind blown"?

nah, i've seen size comparisons like this before.
yea, the universe is pretty large. and to think, NASA has only studied a small section of it so far.
Thank you for reading this assuredly fantastic post.
Reminds me of the idea of nothingness, both are hard to conceptualize, if not impossible. We can think of big, think of scales, but how can we really comprehend fow massive something is without actually seeing it? And how could we come to terms with "nothing" when all of our senses could not perceive it?
Ok, slightly off-track here. Great find on the video, the music added to the feel of it all.
True the music was a great pick for the movie.
That is awesome...If I knew that thread was here I would have posted the video there. I love the hubble telescope, it has been blessing Earth with magnificient photos for years.

I was thinking of the awesome destruction that star would leave after it implodes.

The Universe is huge! In fact, it's the biggest place there is.One thing that you may be interested in is that it's mostly filled up with .. nothing. (Not discussing virtual particles/vacuum energy atm.)
But, even when it is filled up with something, like a star or a planet, that "something" involves a great deal of nothing as well! Here's a scale depiction of a Hydrogen Atom: http://phrenopolis.com/perspective/atom/ (VERY big picture, btw...May not display full size in Firefox, use IE if you can't see the scrollbars at the bottom and right side.)
Click on the "If you want to actually see the electron, you may need click here." link if you get tired of scrolling around trying to find it.
Hydrogen is the most common element that we know of. It exists everywhere yet, it is mostly "nothing."
*This is a depiction only. Because particles like orbiting electrons are very shy.. it's difficult to catch a good photograph of them.![]()
we are a speck of dust in the universe....and i dont really carE!!! *runs outside and curses at the stars*
