    Default Kingdoms Compatability?

I installed the Kingdoms expansion pack, and naturally I haven't been playing the original for several weeks. Now, a couple of days ago, I decided to go back and play the original for a bit of fun, cutting down the Scots as they ran, you know the sort of thing. Problem is, it won't run. It gets to the loading screen (where an arbitrary quote appears and the loading bar shows up with a screenshot in the background), then crashes to the desktop and says "Unspecified error, game will now close". I didn't have this problem before I installed Kingdoms, also, it might be worth mentioning that the Kingdoms installer was failing when I tried to install all of them at once, so I installed each seperate Kingdoms portion separately.

It will be very worth mentioning if you tell us more details. What happenend? Any error messages? Portions? -> Mods like Americas and and Crusades or the DX Part? Or something else?

It was with all of them, the DX part wasn't an issue but all of the expansions. For example: Install All > CTD > Unspecified error, setup will now close Install 3/4 > CTD > Unspecified error, setup will now close That was the case unless I just installed one campaign at a time. It didn't matter which expansion(s) it was, if I tried to install any more than one campaign at a time it did a CTD. Always the same error message though "Unspecified error" which isn't all that helpful.

Seems the Kingdoms installation messed up your Med2 installation. Re-installing seems the only way.
If you have Kingdoms on a disk, I suggest to get a new one.

Hope you are not trying to mix a boxed version (Med2) with a downloaded one (Kingdoms).

No, they're both disc edition. I'll uninstall Kingdoms and Medieval, then re-install Medieval and get a new copy of Kingdoms, my friend might have one. Thanks for the help.

Hope it works this time. It's worth the trouble!
