Hey, I've played the older versions of SS, and if this is anything like that ill be happy. Ive got a few short questions. First off, my game crashes everytime i go to start a Early Campaign. Also If i do start a early campaign can i continue it until the Americas and into "late campaign" times with late units and buildings. Another thing. What is all this grym real recruitment and stuff? ANy help is appreciated.

Im not sure why its crashing check your system log. But yes if you start an early era campaign you can play all the way upto 1800 if u want. Americas are no longer in this Version, They were removed and more middle eastern regions/factions were added instead.

Byg's grim reality is a submob that works with SS and it adds a number of improvements to gameplay and difficulty such as War councils , Faction zeal and so on. You can find out more about it in the sub mobs section.

Real recruitment is another great submod and it better similates the recruitment of armies in medieval times and makes it alot more realistic , It also comes with real combat which makes units themselfs more realistic. You can find out more about that in the sub mobs section also.

Id advise you to at least add one of them to your game.

This is a well known problem that cannot be fixed. Just don't select so many factions before starting the campaign. Choose one beforehand and then just start it.

i've had crashing problems, but mine happens when i click to many buttons on the main menu. for example if i click on the custom battle and go to the faction selection, but then decide that i wanna go back to singleplayer campaign, it will randomly crash. then i have to restart the game. it hasn't crashed during campaign, just on the main menu when i click to many of the buttons.

I've experienced the same problem. If I just load my campaign/start new campaign there is no drama, if I muck around with custom battles and looking at faction profiles it crashes. I found real recruitment a good addition, I found Byg's grim reality very frustrating and difficult to play with.

I have the same issue.. Well its not really an issue since its a well known bug. Its not just the faction selection that can kick you back to Desktop its pretty much anything outside of the "real" game. In fact. My game doesnt load the first time I try it. I have to ctr alt del it and then after that it works everytime.. Weird but not harmful.
