Default Beat the Army Above You

Got a little bored so I thought I'd try this out and see how it goes.

Basically, I'm going to state a stack of units I might field. The next poster then states the army they think would be able to beat this stack. Then, the next person to post chooses an army that he/she thinks would be able to beat the challengers stack. This continues with challengers giving a stack of units that they reckon would beat the stack in the post above them, giving reasons why they believe so if they wish.

In theory, with the rock paper scissors balancing of the game, nobody should ever be able to come up with an unbeatable army however it will be interesting to see if anyone can.

    Rules:
You can only have a maximum of 20 units.
You can pick units from any period.
All units must come from a single faction.
You may assume that players controlling the armies have the same level of skill and experience.
You may assume that all units have maximum weapon and armour upgrades.
You may assume all General units have average command and chivalry/dread.

Well if I want to be ridiculous I'm pretty sure that 20 generals or 20 elephant units would do okay.

Otherwise I'd be French and I'd probably legitimately field:

    1X General
4X Serpentines (to keep the bowmen honest and make them advance beyond stakes or get blown to bits)
2X Pikemen (to keep protect guns and keep calvary honest)
    2X Armoured Sergeants (ditto)
10X Chivalric Knights (no Lancers, because I'd rather have a shield with so many arrows)
1 X Mounted Sergeants for !$#s and giggles.

No Furion, you wouldn't. An just cause I think Pfundner's army is boring, I ll wirte one to beat Jianadaren's army.

    I would choose England.

    1X General
10X Armored Sergeants (form a single, long line with them)
6X Culverins (to own the Serpentines and your inf)
3X Retinue Longbowmen (to place stakes and rain death on your inf)

Bah, I just looked at the Pfunders , but still he cheated so it still works. That army would easily handle even 10 elephants.

    Ok I would go for
    1 General
8 Varangian guard (To own your big line)
    2 greek firethrowers
    2 Dismounted Latinkon (Flank)
    2 Bysantine guard archers
3 Bysantine Latinkon (flank + kill longbowmen)
    2 bombards

14x Lancers ( Never did figure how to beat the Varanign Guard without divide and conquer)
1x Scots Guard (Back up Noble Knights after loss of ammo)
3x Mounted Archers (Take on the Laktinkon)
    1x Adventuiers(sp) (Cause I can)
    1x Noble Knights (Arrow fodder)

Doubt it would work for the Varanign Line, but I do like Lancers.

    France.

8x Voulgier(Upgraded armour to mimimize longbow casualties)
8x Adventurier(To soften up approaching infantry)
2x Serpentine(To make up for long range of the longbowmen)
2x Lancer(To charge into the backs of engaged infantry or to run down archers if they stray too far)
When in doubt, bring Serpentines. >D

    The moors:
    1 general
    15 camel gunners
    4 random best infantry

Considering that your army only has 2 cavalry, 2 missile units that should do it perfectly.

    Aventuriers are missile units..?

Hmm... I think this army might do the trick.

Yup. Adventurier have crossbows, but are also skilled enough with a sword to function as shock troops in a pinch. They're a favorite of mine.
