A Hastings mod
I have been doing the Mod basics course here and it has given me an idea for a project after the class finishes. I would like to create a Hastings mini mod. The mod would reflect what would have happened if King Harold II had won at Hastings which he almost did.
After i have extracted the game files then created a Hastings mod folder and config. and .Bat i see two ways of doing the mod an easy way and a harder way.
The easy way would i think just involve changing the campaign description to reflect the win at Hastings. And changing the English family tree to that of Harold II. I could then use the default game files for England and play the campaign.
The harder way would be to do the above but then change the army units and the buildings to reflect the Scandinavian influence rather that the Norman influence in England after 1066. Which would exist if Harold had won at Hastings.
Modding is still very much a learning process for me so i would welcome any comments or advise about this mod. I think it would be an interesting project.

Re: A Hastings mod
Great news about the 1066 conquests mod. Last time i asked about it i was told it was a terminal case dying if not already dead. If its alive again i hope it is completed soon.
Really the Hastings mod i was talking about is not really intended for the public. It is just a private mod i was thinking of doing for myself. because if i play as England i did not want to start with William as the king.
