    Default Campaign Balance issues

I saw that Tone asked for people to post pictures of their cmapaign map and thought there might be a thread for this purpose. If I thought wrongly please lock this thread. Perhaps people could also discuss campaign map balance here too - Faction X or Y is too powerful etc.

So, without any further ado, here is my Carthage Campaign in 551 AUC (I haven't been able to get far due to some persistent CTDs)

I evacuated Northern Italy after defeating a couple of legions that Rome threw at me. However, I struch back by taking Emporiae, Caralis and Aleria, creating myself a nice little mediterranian empire. I have been playing defencively in order to see how the campaign pans out and haven't launched any attacks on Sicily or Italy (as I would normally have done) I am however decimating the Romans at sea with my mighty 240-man Deceres and blockading most of their their ports seems to be hampering their expansion. Anyway, so far the campaign has been fairly balanced although the Free Greeks are going kind'o mad in the North...

Pontus has expanded to the North and the South. I briefly started a Pontus campaign last night and immediately the Free Greek faction came sniffing around my borders (but decided the settlements were too strong). I had decided to take the rebel/slave settlement to the South, however, looking at the map (above) that will mean a common border with my current allies the Seleucids.

I think the colours for Carthage and Seleucids are way too close on the above map. Are they standard colours? Maybe a slightly darker grey is what is needed for the Seleucids.

I was playing with revision 10 and the one battle I had looked wonderful. The units were impressive as was the battlefield.

I thought that those colours were sufficiently different (one is bright and the other dark).

If the Romans were a darker Red then there would be less of a problem.

Britain has freebarbarians who are spread around the map (pale blue) and belgae (more turquoise colour)

Rome should be more red, dvk, no? I wouldn't change that color...

Seems like the Free Greeks are maybe being a bit too expansionist, shouldn't they mostly turtle?

    • I ran a campaign to see how the factions will perform for about 50 years.
    • The Belgians had conquered all of Britain and destroyed first the Cimbri, than the Averni.
    • The Cimbri had no chance to survive, they soon were crushed. The Averni were expanding first and then beaten.
    • The Romans act weakly, they were overran by the Boii. The Boii had a huge empire, they destroyed Rome, the Getae and finally the Belgians (except Brittain).
    • The Free Greek smashed the Macedians out of greece and shared the lands of the scythians with the Boii.
    • In Asia the Ptolemies finally succeeded by destroying the Seleucids, Armenia, Pontos, Sarmatae and then pushing into the lands of the Free Greeks.

Instead of describing it, I will show pictures next time. But unfortunately had overwritten my campaign.
The map don't really shows the final progression, since a lot of factions don't seem to have all their units and
the AOR for them seems not done yet.

Ye,the colours I think need changing are:

    1) Selucids
    2) Scythians
    3) Getae
    4) Perhaps a slight tweak for the Romans - a slightly deeper red?

    These are just my thoughts

    I would like that to.
It's hard to see there symbol on there flags.
Also make rome more dark red and Dacia dark brown.

Btw. I love the new Ptolemaic color, looks so fresh.

just spent half an hour digging this up, i knew it was somewhere...it may work as a reference, this file changes the factions campaign minimap colours...

hopefully still works for RS2 as for RS1.5c
