Default How do I edit recruitment requirements?

I want to be able to train Triarii from the begining of the game so i can have effective spearmen from the start. Is there a txt or cfg file I can edit to change the requirements? If so, what is the file and in what folder will i find it?

(sorry for the extra post, I didn't appropriately name my other thread so it isn't getting any reples)

You should post this in the Workshop. You'll get better answers there.

    Default Edit recruitment requirements

How can I do this? I want to be able to train Triarii & archers from the start just like hastati. By the time I have enough large cities i start recruiting auxiliaries. Is there a txt file I can edit? If so, what is it called and where can I find it?

It's in the game's data folder and it's called export_descr_buildings.txt

    a) BACK THE FILE UP.

    b) There is a building tree called "barracks", which has various levels (one for muster field, one for militia barracks, etc). Every level has recruitment lines in it, which define what kinds of units are recruitable from it. Now, in the "army_barracks" level of the "barracks" tree, there is a line like this:
    Code:
recruit "roman triarii" 0 requires factions { roman, } and not marian_reforms
This does not exist in the previous levels of the barracks building, so the unit (triarii) is only available from the army barracks onwards.
Therefore, you need to copy this line to the previous levels recruitment sections, in order to make the unit recruitable from them.
