    Default Romans and colours?

    i dont want any change
    i love this mod fully
i even converted back from oblivion to go on it
but why are romans always portryaed as red?
    im films they always are
but in proper documentaries and some films
you see Things like Purple Praetorians (alot) , blue legionares and green ones too
and i know that a color was not xclusive to a family member like vanilla RTW,
and in this they are red and more mods! but i see pictures of varing colors all the while, so i wondered why does red take preference
    thanks

Purple Dye (Blood Red) was a highly sought after and valuable commodity during that period. Using such coloring displayed the wealth and superiority of your country/city. It was mainly due to Rome turning into one of the most powerful and wealthiest cities in Latium during ~5th century BC and later in Italy

Or something along the likes of that. I'm sure you can get a more accurate answer from Google... As for other colors, I figure they were part of certain uniform standards. And I'm fairly certain that NOT all Roman troops wore blood red coloring, but it is a good distinctive feature in the game.

Roman late legionairs had a more standard equipment and did generally get the same colours as the other legionairs. Early legionairs was supposed to get their own armor and clothes, therefor the same colour would be impossible to have. This is what really pissed me of in RTW, that Velites, the poorest one could afford dyes for their clothes ...

White is a good colour to demonstrate early legionairs.
