Default Short Question: I tend to play displomacy game. Which difficulty should I choose in vanila ?

Please share your thought. I did find some former threads about difficulty effect, but it want an extend suggestion.

Btw my computer (actually, my friend's computer) can run properly with very huge unit scale and high setting in graphic. But occasional I occur a situation where I force the AI to breach my wall through 1 stairs (the amount of stair brought by 1 unit only). Usually they gather a whole army to bottom of the stairs, forming a super concentrated mob and my frame start to lose rapidly and continuing that battle means that I would have to watch slow-mo TV all the time.
My question is: should I stop using huge unit scale or start pasting the path ?

I think that Hard is the best diplomacy level, not to easy, but still diplomacy works good.

No it's medium because starting on Hard and very hard settings it is scripted in the game to make your Reputation and relationships with other faction deteriorate. The player gets a penalty decrease on each turn.

Yes I know, but I still think the diplomacy is the best at that level. If you have good reputation you will easily have your relations go up, and its not to easy to create alliances. If you get bad reputation, your in trubble. Its also hard to create alliances with muslims.

In my personal opinion you shouldn't, as the diplomacy is bugged,

Example: I conquered all of Europe minus southern Iberia, and had most of Africa, full stacks out side the moors and city and they still wouldn't become vassals.

    Isn't it always?
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

    1. In vanilly, use medium, as suggested. However, it is really flawed even then. If you want to play a diplomacy game, try a mod, like Lands to Conquer. But even then it's annoying that you are not able to get a ceasefire as soon as you hold some enemy territory. Once you start invading another faction, you won't get peace until they are vanquished.

    2. Pathfinding is even more annoying with huge unit sizes. That's why I play with normal sizes. Many mods improve pathfinding, so it might be possible to play with larger units sizes then.
"The cheapest form of pride however is national pride. For it reveals in the one thus afflicted the lack of individual qualities of which he could be proud, while he would not otherwise reach for what he shares with so many millions. He who possesses significant personal merits will rather recognise the defects of his own nation, as he has them constantly before his eyes, most clearly. But that poor blighter who has nothing in the world of which he can be proud, latches onto the last means of being proud, the nation to which he belongs to. Thus he recovers and is now in gratitude ready to defend with hands and feet all errors and follies which are its own."-- Arthur Schopenhauer
