theres probably been a million threads about this but i am just starting to realise how incredibly dumb this games AI is. Once u start to get further into the game and start forming an empire for yourself ud think obtaining a ceasefire or something would be easier. Im playing as France and have taken over most of western europe while denmark still only has 3 regions or whateva in their little scandinavian up north so they decide to take on the biggest empire in the world with only 3 units and lay siege to Hamburg which happens to have a full stack. Needless to say they were totally owned and ed off bak to Arhus. Instead of going on a blitz i decided to use a diplomat to try and work it out. he wasnt just a newly recruited one either he had about 5 influence. so he goes off to Arhus to negotiate - i offer them a ceasefire.. just a plain ceasefire and they flat out reject it.. shove it right back in my face and then my relations goes down with them. I thought 'Oh well ur loss, now ill just destroy your little kingdom'.


heres hoping the ai system has improved significantly for empires.

The mods have improved this considerably. So until we get to see Empire, you might want to check out some of the mods out there.

Well their refusal to surrender's not completely illogical, but game-wise it is. Honestly, you'd probably have to destroy them militarily unless they are truly irrational.

I'll repeat it as many times as is necessary, but all of you that are bored with the AI really need to get involved with the XAI project.

It is already a phenomenal improvement in the AI (it has been re-written from the ground up as a decision making matrix), but work on it still continues, and needs the community's support to grow to perfection.
