I know this is a century age topic. But the reason I open this thread is different.
I'm going to write an essay about whether Israel should exist or not(and under what circumstances)
I'm pro-Israel but I need some points to make in essay. So whet you are in favor of Israeli state or not, can you make 3 good points about it?
This could also make your arguements clear huh?
What comes to my mind right now
*Israel is a modern state with high living standarts
*Jews has rights on their ancient lands-I'd like to say this but it doesN't make much sense to me so if anyone could make it a more logical thing for me?
....please I need ideas pro or against

They have contributed a lot to the worlds communications and technology I.e. mobile phones & Computer software.

I'm no expert on Israel but here goes anyway. Oh and don't flame me for my ignorance lol.

+ The Jews displaced by the events of WW2 needed to go somewhere.

+ After centuries of fighting between Muslims and Christians with no end in sight, maybe its time to let someone else have a go at ruling the holy land.

- The creation of Isreal in turn displaced many Palestinians.

- Everyone has the same need for the holy land (Christians, Jews and Muslims all consider the area to be sacred. All religions are equal in their need for the place so why should one of them control it?)

- Due to actions of Isrealis and those around it the area is a hotbed of violence which is never a good thing.

- The creation of Isreal gave rise to Zionist conspiracy theories that are quite dull .

The best argument for the existence of Israel is the fact it does exist. You can't change the past, and barring an ethnic cleansing campaign, the Israelis are here to stay.

most of these point to the creation of any new state but here goes

tbh im against isreal, but i can see the reason for its exsistance

pros:-

displaced jews need a reasonably adequate place to go after WWII

jews had been persecuted or many hundreds of years, if a state could be formed of them, this would be reduced

brings money to a region (poorer people are less likely to fly half way across the world, and if they do it willl bring labour = investment = money)

as a millitary meneuver, if certain powers back a newly created state they can extend there sphere of influence to that region. (not sure if this is a good point tbh, but it will be for the particular country that backs it)

cons:-

most jews were descendants of russian kazars, who have no ancestral claim to isreal, and if they did they long left, i could claim a stake in just about any part of the world using this logic (i have a very spread out ancestral history)

to move thousands of people to a place, means more people have to be displaced

middle east is not famous for its stability, a far more appropriate place (o or even places) could have been found (south america, austrailia, new zealand or an island in greece, bahalmas or micronesia), or where a country isnt always entirely nessacarry (ie a state in america,), but this is a matter of location, as opposed to the actual creation.

cost, to create a state with infrastructure millitary and democratic governance is expensive, and would inevatably be paid for by other countries

when it boils down to it, i have nothing against a hypothetical isreali state, i am against the israeli state that the world has, which resorts to violent, and racist civic planning methods, and failling to recognise thousands of inhabitants as citizens. this separats people and causing a new reason for anti semitism ,something which this state was supposed to prevent

Descent of east european jews from khazars is not widely accepted as modern theory, in all likehood it was question of upper classes converting and the whole getting absorbed in later wanderings of folks.
I am not saying it is total truth, but seems that khazars played a small part in european jew population.

The ones Everyone has added have been good, but here is another. Allowing the state of Israel to exist has provided the U.S. with a strong ally in the Middle East. I don't think the U.S. would ever abandon Israel and Israel in return has helped the U.S. by blowing up Iraq's nuclear reactor in the 80's, fighting terrorism, and influence. All other people's in the Middle East have a wavering allegiance, but Israel it seems.

I would rather say the mediterraneansea cuz Israel only have one port on the red sea in the other hand they have a large coast on the mediterranean
in my point of view Israel is a temporarily state which will fall one day, as long as the Arab states around are weak Israel will flourish but if this situation come to end Israel will be in trouble,cuz simply as David bin Gurion once said ''Israel could only lose once''!!! so if we imagined that Israel go into a war against Arab states and she suffered heavy losses (20,000-40,000 soldeirs) for Israel it's a military catastrophe she will no longer able to launch an offensive war,in this case Golan will fall to the Syrians, Egyptian forces would penetrate Gaza marching to tel Aviv and haifa ,Demona... major combate will take place and both sides will suffer heavy casualities but in the end victory will be for the Arab states>
