    Default Toulouse Region

Hello, I'd just like to inquire to anyone who's played and had Toulouse Region in the Vanilla or CC2 Campaign.

I'm currently playing as Spain in the CC2 Alternate Grand Campaign and for some odd reason, I can't seem to build any watchtowers or forts in Toulouse Region (I own it), but I am able to build anywhere else except for that specific region. Can anyone tell me why this is so and is this the same case as a game in Vanilla?

You're probably building in a narrow space between Spain and France.

Hmm... I started some new games as France both in Vanilla and CC2 Maps and I was able to build normally at the exact same space as I did in my game as Spain.

I thought about why I couldn't build in the same space as Spain and I noticed that the Farm Building appears before the Wall building when I click the settlement (I changed it from a Castle to a City). For some reason, the farm building got placed in the spot the Wall building should be. Is there any way I can fix this?

That has happened to me before, but I never really payed much attention to it. I'm guessing it's because it had a farm before it became a city, but I think you can fix by demolishing and rebuilding it.

That's actually my second dilemma. >.<

I can't demolish either the farm nor the walls. It doesn't allow me to. The other buildings though, I can demolish.

That frustrates my nostrils... Maybe the game thinks that the farm is a wall or something? I'd have to check later how to get around it. My new theory is just upgrading the city. It should delete the old city wall image and add the new one to the front where it should be. I'm gonna test this once I get my BMDB working again.

The destruction of walls is forbidden to prevent population manipulation: say, turning a faction's city into a citadel before turn 10. Farms makes sense, being they're so regionally pervasive. It would be odd to easily destroy cultivated land. As for the rest, I don't know. It's vanilla...

Hmm... I tried using the add_population code just to test and quickly upgrade that city.

I upgraded it from Minor to Huge and still I can't demolish either and the Wall is still 2nd to the Farm. :/ This is irking as now, I can't build any forts or watchtowers in my most needed province.

    (1) The region is suffering the aftermath of a recent flood, so watchtowers and forts cannot be built in that region till it has recovered, you will also find that movement in the area is also restricted. (2) Regarding changing castles to cities farm building problem, this can happen when you change a castle to a city etc, as its a new building, the farm and probably any other building built before this change will be rearranged. (3) Walls and farms cannot be demolished.

To build a watchtower, you can't have any mountains beside it

Neither can be built beside towns

But why not just use a spy instead of a watchtower? And forts aren't even that useful unless you are taking advantage of the AI. City walls are better.

Hmm... Well, I tried building on the same spot in a new game and it works perfectly fine. The reason I like to have Watchtowers at my borders is so that I'll know what's happening or if an invasion is coming. I also like to position forts in between my border towns so the same army can defend two-three towns.

Yeah... about that... "Divide and Conquer" really doesn't apply to defending...

And you can just as easily make a spy as a watchtower. And spies can't be "taken" by rebels, although they can kick the bucket. But how many watchtowers do you have that can move?
