Foxs News views the world through glasses which are blind on the left eye. It's an extremely conservative right-wing news network. The only good thing is that they are so openly right-wing, you'll notice the instant you see or read anything from them. Surprisingly, 20th Century Fox Movies has some flicks that are quite contrary in spirit to the news network's propaganda.
"The cheapest form of pride however is national pride. For it reveals in the one thus afflicted the lack of individual qualities of which he could be proud, while he would not otherwise reach for what he shares with so many millions. He who possesses significant personal merits will rather recognise the defects of his own nation, as he has them constantly before his eyes, most clearly. But that poor blighter who has nothing in the world of which he can be proud, latches onto the last means of being proud, the nation to which he belongs to. Thus he recovers and is now in gratitude ready to defend with hands and feet all errors and follies which are its own."-- Arthur Schopenhauer

Well, no single network is neutral. Neither are newspapers. What's important is that you have a multitude of different sources, so that the overall media scape is pluralistic. The difference to totalitarian regimes is just that, but fundamental: No single opinion, but many. It's your task to form your own. This is the situation in the US. Italian media seems less diverse to me. How many networks and papers are owned by Berlusconi?

I like channels like Fox better than those that have a more subtle approach in manipulating the news. I can get the information I need from Fox, because I know which bias they have.

here.. papers are neutral, berlusconi accuse them to be leftist... but they are not. Specific political newspapers are fielded as in other countries of the world... about media, well it's true that Berlusconi owns Mediaset (3 channels) and just one of his networks is fielded.. but fielded not as Fox News... they interview both leftist and rightist in the same way and numbers and they do not create fake news... in the other side, the state television (not property of berlusconi) has a 3 channels too and one of those is called Rai 3, that is hugely fielded pro communism and leftists against berlusconi (all the time).. so the game ends with a draw... leftist owns a network, berlusconi another one... but anyway, i think this is not correct... all media and newpapers must be neutral... my opinion

So do most of us, but they never are. No news network, anywhere in the world, can be neutral.

Most of us can't, and FOX "News" is widely derided for its obvious right-wing partisanism. But it's not we can do anything about it, like demand the network get shut down. We do have freedom of the press, regardless of how stupid that press can be.

Berlusconi owns 3 channels on 130.. leftist owns state television.. 3 channels too.. Berlusconi did not control newspapers, just a magazine of gossip, science etc, called Panorama that is not properly a real newspaper. the thing about berlusconi and his power about media, is and old leftist propaganda against him... infact people here knew well who really lies... extreme left wing and extreme right wing had 0 votes on the last PM and Parliament elections... Communist for example, have been humiliated on votations... they do not have seats on parliament and curia

Fox is a cable news network, its competitors are MSNBC and CNN. Fox's opinion shows (Bill Oriely) are very right wing, their anaylist shows (Hannity and Comes, Brit Hume) are slanted towards the right, and their news coverage is slightly biased to the right. It is a profitable buisness model because if you are watching cable news, it means you aren't looking for the highest quality information (Fox gets the majority of its news from other sources like the AP, Reuters, NBC, CBS, ABC). Those with political views on the right eat up Fox news, thats the whole point of the network.

MSNBC has tried to revive itself using a simular buisness model, but aimed towards the left. They basically mimiced Fox's programing but put in left-wing pundits instead of right wing.

Those who are serious about their news do not go to Fox/MSNBC. And I hate to say it, but CNN is trying to go 100% legit and rival AP/Reuters etc, so they cannot be grouped with Fox/MSNBC.

(I get most of my news from the PBS, NPR, CSPAN, BBC which are all world class)

Go looking for some real evidence. Every liberal rails against FOXNEWS, but of all the major news agencies, FOX is the most balanced. Liberals love citing CNN as balanced simply because they are the least left. CNN still has a bunch of news anchors that openly love the Left.

Fox ruled with 39.3 percent of those polled beating out CNN at 16 percent and MSNBC at 15 percent.
    From a Zogby poll. Source
    Another source
    Another source

And then think about the number of stations on each side.
Conservative: FOXNEWS (or as Liberals call it "The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy")
Liberal: MSNBC, CNN, NBC, CNBC, ABC, etc.

And those are only the Major News Networks. There are also any non news networks that tout opinion or claim to talk about news that have a Left Bias. Then there are the newspapers. Think of a major newspaper in the US and odds are (quite significantly) that they have a Liberal bias.

End result; judge the person by there record and what they say. Not what others say of them.

papers and news bulletins are never impartial. never. you need to listen to/read as many as you can to distill the truth. it's not because your paper has no obvious slant that it doesn't have any.

I love ole' Silvio. I remeber an episode of Have I Got News For You when they said he'd worn a bandanna for a whole confrence to hide that he'd had a hair transplant, when asked why he was wearing it he claimed he was dressing up as a pirate.

Fox News does seem fairly biased from what I've heard, but the fact that a media will be biased one way or t'other is really a given.

I don't think bias is the right word.

Their straight news coverage is bias, but their analysis and opinion shows go far beyond that. They hired two anaylists straight out of the Bush Whitehouse (Tony Snow, Carl Rove), and their other anaylists/opinionists (Hannity, Orielly) are jaw-dropping in their partisanship. There is no pretense of balance outside of their straight news coverage. Its a buisness model that the owner is actually proud of, not ashamed.

MSNBC likewise has tossed out any pretense of balanced anaylsis/opinion, they tried doing that for several years and it was unprofitable. Its not just a slight bias, it is entirely catering to one side of political views.

CNN has basically cornered the market as the "fair" cable network. That is what they sell. Fox, and MSNBC have decided not to compete agaisnt this, they target people who want a political slant.

All news companies will have biases, because.... they are companies! They are owned by people who have views themselves.

All I hear from the popular media is that they, themselves, are over-run by liberal bias. Therefore, I can only conclude that pop media is in fact conservative.

I think most TV channels do a pathetic job informing the people compared to the 60s,70s and 80s, espescially in the US and by FOX. Read the freakin neswpapers on the net, way better.
