Should Sweden and Norway form a union just like in the 1814?

Yes. All countries with similar cultures and peoples should merge.

What's up with all these Norway, Sweden and Denmark topics?
Anyways, no good reason for us to form a union.
That goes for EU as well.
Us Norwegians have plenty of everything, so does the swedes. We're both doing great on our own. (Well Sweden might go to hell, but who cares about them?)

I would not mind that type of union. At least if it was not part of the EU.Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, And Norway should all form a unionThey can call it vikingunionen

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State. - James Madison

@Xan: No way that will happen! just becouse our Defence force is run by Retards and we have'nt enough money to fuel our planes doesnt mean we are defensless.... or wait.... doh.
Again ??
Why on earth for ??
The union didn't work the first time or even the 2nd time.
Think it's time to face the facts, it's alot more fun to have them as a "rival" nation then a "partner".
No. The less unions in this world, the better. We've already heard that the ridiculous E.U. rip-off called the South American Union had formed recently...
i know it will not happen but i think it is a union that might actually be accepted by the Norwegian people.
Assuming of course that it would be a union of equals.
And nothing would stop of from counting to make fun of each oter.
One a certain level, a union of Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland (if the Finns and Estonians are up for it, I'd give em invite too) would make sense. The languages are similar, the poltical and social cultures are in roughly the same center-left ballpark, and a combined soccer league would rock. hard
But the issues preventing it are just as big. Norway's got the natural resources, Denmark's politics have turned sharply to the right the last few years, Sweden would dominate any proportional representation parliment, the Icelanders might not like being a monarchy, and which monarch gets the title 'King/Queen of Scandia' (which would be my first choice for a name for the new united country. These issues would probably prevent a union.
Is it being discussed in the press in the various countries right now?:hmmm:
