Just taken this settlement and I can't build any kind of unit...at all, no native troops, no factions troops, no diplomats, no priests - nada. The recruitment screen is empty. Religion doesn't appear to be an issue, as the settlement to the south of it (Qahira?) is at 1% orthodoxy and I can build priests, diplomats, and native troops.

What gives?

You can build your troops only in your homelands, otherwise you have to rely on mercenaries or bring your troops from your home to the front.

Edit: What did my computer smoke? The link is correct I think but it brings me to a weird game site- Just look for the topic with "AoR".
