TWC needs your help donate $5 to them.

As you know TWC server is acting up and may go down in the future. its up to the Fans and users of this forum to Donate money to help keep it afloat. Think of it this way, if this server goes down you lose SPQR and Future possible mods for SPQR and other mods.

I think we can all SPARE $5 if you have a Paypal account.

Come on do it for SPQR $5 is a McDonald Kids Meal.

If just 240 people donate $5 they will have enough. If you can donate more great but really $5 is all that is needed if most here at the SPQR forum donate.

i think you shouldn't have said that :hm:
now you'll have the effect that everyone will think "someone else will donate, so why should i?" resulting in nobody, or very few people donating (isn't that the Milgram effect? you know, also the guy of the obedience thingie and the small world fenomenon)

anyhow, i can understand that TWC needs money, but i think they should make a front add, or sent everyone a pm or something, but putting it on the top of the page does seem a bit pushing :hm:

but, maybe they'll get the best result with this, i hope so

i think what most people is stopping is the fact that you're doing money things via internet, most people don't trust that.....

Especially Paypal is something I would never use...I would rather donate it to lt himself...I paid only 10 bugs for the Gold edition of RTW but played SPQR most of the time I own the game...that would be fair

I never had much use for other forums on here and wouldn't consider me part of the community...it would be a shame if all the content gathered in this subforum would be lost but I won't pay for this nor will I pay for any other forum

Its just a suggestion, no one is saying I will pull SPQR mod. lol I am only doing my part I have been here at TWC for years with my mod and I would hate to see TWC turn Corporate with All the tracking and SPAM advertising etc. Best to keep it with the gamers.

I know money is Tight, personally Paypal isnt that bad I use it all the time and Never have been ripped yet. Main thing is if enough people donate they may be able to get 2 server which would be better as a backup or more HDs etc.

First off, Please dont tell me what to do in MY forum. I am not asking you for anything, I am speaking to LONG term SPQR fans, not people I dont know or ever heard from. So please if you dont want to give something dont, but dont drag it out. Let others decided what or if they wish to do anything.

I think people will donate if they have an incentive or a reward, i mean people like to be appreciated. In an another forum i visit, if you make a minimum donation, you get a VIP badge, i mean you don't get any special privileges, it just shows that they support the site, it makes people psychologically feel good that they did something.

This is the forum i visit the most often, so i will donate 10$.

I think the reward is just to have this site remain up and running and corporation free. I mean we all seen the MESS forums can become when large companies or corps take over. Or worse yet no TWC at all. So the reward should be wanting to keep this community up and running. Like I said the more they get the better the server, its a good cause because it effects all of use who use this site. After all what would we do for modding tools or Mods etc without this site and others?

IGN and Gamespot are perfect examples of mismanaged game sites. TWcenter can live on with donations. Man those sites are horrible.

thats true, Gamespot was alot better about 3 years ago then they changed and now even their reviews you cannot trust, they are getting money from the side, a good example was T3 war of the machines you should see the PREVIEWS and then its crap, not to mention some games getting BAD reviews while others that are HUGE corporate backed games get great reviews though they stink!

Anytime you get Corporations involved its all about money and substance isnt there anymore. I would take TWC anyday over CA's official forums.

CA's official forums are always being monitored for something that may hurt the game or company that may include constructive criticism and they delete those threads fast

yes forums that are managed by big companies always try to lock down the expression of opinion.

a reward for people who donated would be nice but on the other hand could be a pain in the *ss. it is like LT said the reward should be : the reward should be wanting to keep this community up and running.

Hi, i tried to donate $15.00 by unfortunately the transaction wasn't completed :-( I don't have a paypall account and tried a direct unsuccessful SSL transaction... Is there any other way to donate apart from paypal? I was ripped off by Paypal once and I sweared never to use their services again...
