    In history...

    Bravest: Spartans.

    Strongest: surely Spartans
(I mean imagine having to carry both a 2-3m spear AND a shield, whilst wearing armor and a heavy helmet...those men needed to have hulk power...)

better equiped: ROMANS... Read "The Art of War" from Niccolo Machiavelli... He clearly proves that the roman army was far the best equiped army (not counting military advancements)

Better trained: ahnn not sure, maybe samurais? I mean they had to rain their entire life for it.

I would say americans are best overall.

Strongest are for sure the vikings. If you read some books about the subject it becomes clear.
Take for exampel the varangian guard, the most feared unit of its age, they were known to be twice as long as the muslim warriors, though thats a bit excessively (It was made of vikings adopted by the bysantium empire for their great skills and size).
Considering they rowed around most of the day they surely had great size of their muscles aswell.

You can't say that some people are the most strongest. There are strong people in every country.

Other greek hoplites also carried armor, shield etc, and Roman Legionaires carried all their weaponry + their food reserves and every single tool needed for a long campaign and were still able to march 40 km a day! :hmmm:

bravest: again, questionable, there were many other heroic last stands.

better equiped: Hussars ;p Seriously, this was the most beautifull cavalry of all time, equipped with best (thus most expensive) horses, best weaponry and armor. But some royal guards were also better equipped, f.example Royal Drabants of swedish kings, praetorians, etc.

better trained: why samurai? are medieval knights worse? Polish winged hussars beat them in this aspect, along with G.A. infatry, romans, Alexander the Great's phalangites etc.

Well, samurai was seriously trained since age 1. They didnt do anything else than practise the great skills of samurais and eat rice, and after that they were samurais their whole life, or until they were damaged or really old.

Romans on the other hand if im not wrong only had a 10 year war service, Alexanders soldiers were great warriors trough all their battles but their training dont match the samurai ones and Polish winged hussars I guess you just put in becuase your polish.

But does it mean that they were best? The lenght of the training does not always cover the advantage of combat exprience. Medieval knights also trained since their childhood, so did much of latter nobility
About polish hussars: that's only one factor that made me mention them, but most important is that their tactics required extreme coordination and training, also their combat experience was unmatched- we had wars with either Western and Eastern-style armies during nearly entire XVIIth century. Even when Hussars were outnumbered 5:1, they still won.

Nah, msot of the knights began their "real" war training about 10-14, while samurai children joined the war at about that age. And I guess that samurais had the best training actually, becuase the samurais had such dam good discipline and overall skills, and not just for some centurys but for about 1000 years.
And about the hussars, there are thousands of units in history thats had complicated tactics thats require lots of training, and in the medieval age 5:1 is much at all actually, thats like average knight scores.

This isn't true, really. Knights were began their training around age 7, and would be in their first battles by 13. People think the medieval knight was somehow inferior to the samurai...this simply wasn't true. We just grew out of it sooner, and thus the samurai left an impression on the colonial armies the knight wasn't able to.

Anyone who is part of a warrior caste is, frankly, hard as nails and scary as hell.

Persian nobles (Alchaemenid) started their training at seven, does that make them the toughest??

better trained... i go here too with roman legions, trained in the imperial city.. on the altars of Mara, Akatosh, Ahura Mazda, Sheogorath the psychopath (these do not work, if the npc's not human raced)

    As for the bravest troops?

You can't really measure bravery, but I have always classified bravery as stupidity, with a purpose.

In terms of the best militaries in the world, in all of history? I would have to say that the best overall was Alexander's.

Bravery means knowing and accepting that the consequence of an action could be death but going ahead and doing it anyway.

Bravest: Alot were brave, there isn't really 1 answer. I'd pick Spartans though, overall.

Strongest: For their time? Again alot of answers. And Spartans were definately the strongest of their time.

Better equiped: Again alot of answers:hmmm:. Though I´m leaning towards the Hoplite side.

Better trained: Now this one does have 1 definate answer, Spartans, without a doubt.
