    Default One shot, One kill.

In M2TW i couldn't help notice how annoying it were when a soldier was struck by not just one arrow but several arrows to like the face and he would just stagger and sway a little and then carry on with the fight like nothing happened, surely he would have gone down.

In FKoC i noticed the same when someone receives a musketball to the chest, they stagger and sway a little.

I don't know the slightest thing about modding so forgive me if you can't remove or alter this to one shot one kill.

So is this possible to mod? or is it 'hardcoded' as you modders say?

IIRC there is a variable in the EDU or another file that determines, as a decimal, the probability of a soldier being killed by a unit's attack (the figure is different for each and every unit's attack(s)).

EDIT: Again I profess that I am unsure, but the variable may only be applicable to missile weapons (which was your concern to begin with, so no problem I suppose) and it may be found within the descr_projectile file. I'm going off memory here, so I am definitely not 100% certain.

there are indeed ways to change the issue that you are having, but you must be sure that you are not overpowering the units as well, dont need a slaughter fest.along with what was mentioned above i suppose it would not hurt to add the attribute Armour Piercing(AP)to the EDU for the weapons in question(this will reduce the effect of the targets armour rating by half)as well as raising the damage levels of the weapon of the aggressor in the same file.

I personally don't mind that problem

i just imagine the muskets as being more deadly the closer the enemy is based on accuracy as the game is more likley to hit and kill the enemy , as you can't see musket balls

Actually, you can. I've found musket balls flying through the air on multiple occasions.

the problem lies in adjusting the edu, mount and projectiles files.

the ratios for mass are in kgs. so figure out the weights of arrows, bullets, cannonballs, men and horses...and you have reality. You also need to figure in realistic velocities. Men will still get hit and shrug it of, due to armor and the like. Some men are more hearty. But in a volley ranks will fall, especially the closer you let it off.

    Go to work.

if they are modded properly, bullets move too fast to see.

For what you want, you need CoD4.

COD4 is soooooooo arcadish that any military man would spit on the game makers. Just look at how they fire the magnum desert eagle, i mean no one can fire that gun that fast no one not even 007

Especially because 007 uses a Walter PPK.

I think Hitman (agent 47) uses a desert eagle tough...and that guy from Snatch (movie). Ohh yeah, and Max payne...

Folks, somebody should try this: increase the damage per volley to something very large (100 damage), so that it kills instantly. At the same time lower the accuracy of volleys by the same dramatic proportion (so that volleys rarely actually hit). Then you should have these shootouts where two volleys fire at each other and often miss, but if any shot connects then it kills the target instantly.

Good idea, but what do i have to change in the CFG file for this then?

Nothing, only the EDU should get the changes (save a backup!).

damage from firearms is covered in the projectiles file. accuracy in the battle_config file.
