Experienced a first CTD in my new campaign.

    Year: winter 240- summer 241
    Error shown: no
Recurrent: no; next time I loaded it was just fine..
misc: I saw it crashed when it was the Free People's turn

I don't know what caused it, just thought I'd mention it.

Good, all of these ctd need's to be reported.
I't may very well be a trait that cause this.

Had another CTD. I think it's caused by the same thing. Perhaps it is a trait, like you said?

    Year: summer 253- winter 253
    Error shown: no
Recurrent: no. same as last time: next time I loaded it was just fine.
misc: I failed to see what faction's turn it crashed in.

Is there any way I could find out what's causing this?
I feel like these kinds of observations are useless if I can't spot the cause :s

It is very important to note which faction's icon is showing when these CTD's occur. There are a number of things it could be...but without knowing the faction's turn it occurred during, you're right..it's useless. There's no way to narrow it down.

Every time anyone hits 'end turn' they need to be watching the icons scroll and pay close attention to which one it hits if a CTD occurs. I know it sucks....but it's the only way to find it.

Your reports also need to be 'pin-point specific'. 'Free People faction' doesn't tell me anything...there are three of them.

Trouble is, it's difficult to see which icon it is as they go too fast sometimes. These CTDs seem to be new though, could they be related to the new trait stuff, and if so is there a way of stripping it out to see whether they still happen?

i'm back on Beta, after a long business travel, and here are some thoughts...
    1) i've noticed that the Belgae temples have "germanic" gods names rather than celtic ones... Is it a bug or intentional ?
    2) The names of the generals too, is more germanic oriented than celtic, at least for a part of them.
I don't remember having seen such names in my books ,even for the celtic tribes on the left side of the Rhine.
    Comments ?

1&2) These will change. They were there just as filler mainly. I've posted the final Belgae temple/gods list a few hours ago so in BETA 12 or maybe 13 things will be a step closer to getting those finalized.

As for the tribes on the left side and others, what tribes do you mean specifically?

Well see this link : http://www.lexilogos.com/gaulois_peuples_carte.htm
at the left of the Rhine ,were the Leucii ,the Mediomatriques, the Lingons and the Sequanes ,both of them had celtic gods and traditions ,not germanic ones.
I live in the area (Lorraine) , and i've found myself celtic relics in the fields not far of my house (money, ex-votos)
7 km south of my village is an oppidum where the local deity was Rosmerta ,goddess of the rivers and 3 km further, were found tombs with funeral chariots of some local prince.
All that, to say that my region is (was) clearly celtic.

I see what you mean. If we could put all the Celtic and Germanic tribes along the Rhine river, we would. Because theres only a few we can add, a split had to be made. Celts would be on the left, and Germans to the right, although that is not historically correct (RTW limitations force us to do this)

Also, in RS2's time frame in 217 B.C., the Celts were not being torn apart by civil war/infighting like they were at later times and were 'dominating' the Germans. By Caesars time around 50 B.C, the Germans were 'dominating' the Celts. So at the beginning of RS2 its more likely that he Celts would have held the left of Rhine and had some migrations on the right side (like the Volcae).

Something curious is that map shows the Eburones as Germans, when they were probably more Celtic than Germanic based on coinage and language, but thats doesn't mean anything really as I am positive that the Eburones, and other Belgae had plenty of Germanic blood and culture. But again, RTW cannot accurately show the situation. The Aedui and Carnutes had defeated them and other Belgae tribes before, and this defeat had sent them fleeing back into Belgic homelands or to Britain, where the Belgae have a settlement in RS2. I hope this help make things a bit clearer for you

DMB says they have a sprite, and it is in the folder. It may be the wrong one though, because I have a comment next to it that it needs a new one.

No one can recruit ships until they have a 'shipwright'.

it seems that celtic names of chieftains are not implemented yet, maybe the next rev ?
Will it be an option for the gaesetae to be naked in the final version ? ( its more historical for me, but i understand very well that some persons dont like/need it ) and they arent recrutable in belgae caserns though..
i've seen too that the unit stats have been heavily changed, but seen nothing special during the fights, maybe they are longer now.

Do you mean their actual names or their titles (e.g. King, etc)?
