Please leave your name if you give me rep, so I can rep you back thanks
I do modding, as in "moderating".
Yout're just jealous because I became a moderator and not you.
Map looks absolutely great! Just amazing.
Was wondering, though, is there a particular reason why accents have been included in some names (e.g. "Amon Sûl") but not in others (e.g. "Barad Dur" is used, instead of Barad-dûr)? Just thought maybe you should have some kind of consistency there.
In terms of the actual map though, it looks absolutely stunning.
I don't find words to say what I feel. It is so... Wahooo. This mod is...
Great Work (with a big W !),
- Just as amazing as I thought it would be , many nice things all around to search for. The Erebor settlement is nicely done, well hidden in the mountain. So happy to see the Moria there !
- However I have three questions:
* for the Falls of Rauros, I believed the statues were toward the north (their arms would interdict to enter Gondor). It's better looking that way (toward the south) though but I'd like to know if it's just a "for the view" reason .
* You could have used the Erebor model for Moria, I'm happy as it is but I'm just asking myself why you made a specific one (they're both dwarves' settlements).
* I believed there was a town/port/something (can't remember the name) on Umbar west coast (at the end of the peninsula) is it that watchtower (would it be there in the final map or was it just forgotten ?).
- That's all the "mistakes" I can find atm. Sadly, there isn't a Dimholt settlement south of Dunharrow but perhaps later if someone find a good way to simulate that dead army (without creating new models just for that) :hmmm:.
So for this one everyone !
Swwwwweeeeettttt!
Great work as always KK!
First off, I'd just like to say that this is one of the most beautifully crafted and aesthetically pleasing maps I have ever seen in a mod for a Total War game. I can't find any fault whatsoever with the way it looks.
However, (yes, there is a however ) it seems to me that there are still geographical errors with this map, just as there was with LOTR: TW's map, which you used to create your own, by the looks of things. Here's some examples:
-The Anduin Vale is far too wide around Minas Tirith. Osgiliath was not at all that distant from Minas Tirith. In fact, working off the maps at the back of the books, my estimation is that it wasn't more than ten miles beyond the Rammas Echor.
-Shouldn't the Elostirion settlement be placed by the Tower Hills? Elostirion was, after all, the tallest of those towers.
-And shouldn't the settlment on Tolfalas be called Gobel Tolfalas?
My only other worry is that the map will be slightly too large for armies to traverse easily, but I guess I'll find that out in due time.
Hello mithrandir,
- Well... Deads would since it's City of the Deads . But I didn't mean it to be a regular settlement (my bad). I thought of it more like a ruined city (like Osgiliath, perhaps). It can also be like those special features (Argonath and others) on the final map (giving some +/- bonuses). It would be in a pass towards the south (like Moria on final map).
- But anyway, for the time being it isn't there so I'll just mourn a little in the dark . If I can think of a really good idea, I'll post it in the suggestions thread .
