    Default Saved Game of Lt1956

    Hello,

I noticed a few people are having a hard time figuring out HOW to play SPQR mod. I decided to upload one of my OWN saved games from a Current Campaign, I use the Script so it would be wise to use it also or problems may happen.

This also can give NEW players a chance to start out a little more SOLID than the beginning of the mod which is hard for some without cheats. I think you can gather alot from this saved game which is MY CURRENT campaign.

What you can see if Garrisons in HOT provinces, Legions in Sicilia for the invasion of Carthage, Legions in Spain, and legions in Northern Italy to hold back the gauls. it will give you an Idea of how I play.

I also encourage others to post their saved games when they have a problem or need advice, and though I might critique your campaign I still understand you have your own style of play and that my way isn't the only way.

You can gather though if you want how playing a certain way will REALLY increase the FUN and CHALLENGE of the game. Making whole legions of one type of unit and autocalcing isn't the answer to SPQR mod and if one does that they might as well play other mods which would be ALOT more fun for their style of play.

    Salute!
Is this for 7.0 or 6.4? And are saves compatible?
    Cheers for a wonderful mod!

i guess it is for 7.0

and 7.0 is not compatible in 6.4, they will cause CTDs down the road if you try. No one ever said SPQR was easy, but it can be FUN once your SKILL LEVEL is increased. Some new players need the help of experienced ones in order to learn just like real generals learned from their commanders.

Learn the tactics, Learn the Logistics, and SPQR will be a unique experience for you.

you dont need to be very good in the logistic side of the game to be good(i really suck at that part because i'm only interested in the battles). but my lack in managing skills are made up for by good command. if you just nevver lose a battle you will still love this game(because im very sure i do).

well cnaeus, maybe you should find you someone who wants to do a campaign with you!
you being the one who does the battle, he the economie
it's best that he/she is a good friend, so you can agree on this, like invasions and stuff

this adds a new aspect to the game

    anyhow, good idea LT
new players will find this easier to start, and can then later start a campaign of their own

i'll check your savegame later, once i have more time and have 7.0 installed

DaviusMax I never was on the RTR team, I was on EBs team for a while helping on with that mod when it first started years ago. SPQR was arround before EB really got off the ground, the Trivium group gave new life to EB by then only RTR and SPQR we the mods available that were large.

    C / Program Files / Activision / Rome - Total War / saves

(unless you have renamed RTW to SPQR or installed it somewhere else)

I have a problem with saving in this mod. I have the 7.0 v and 1.5 v of rtw. When i save, however, the game shuts down after succesfully saving. But when i try to load the save nothing happens for about 15 secs in the loading screen, then the game shuts down.

    Any thoughts?

SCript or something mayhaps? Or some other manipulations? Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldnt savegames work pretty much as multiplayer attempts. ie completely same version? I mean if anyone has altered smth viable, can the savegame cope with that?

(If you have changed some configuration in the mod or added other content it might be the problem. Did this occur the first time you saved or otherwhise what year did it occur? And did you do anything before this problem happend? Try start another campign and save and see if same problem appear.)

I love to run the economy in the game and build build build in my provinces, guess thats why my campigns takes so long time. Especially if some mad family member runs a province with large military force and riches, then civil war is around the corner.

It happened the first time and every time i try to save. Same thing with the loading problem. And by configuration do you mean graphics and so ? Then yes i have maximized the graphics since my computer can handle that. THat's all.
